...On a somewhat street-able motor?
Long story short, I bought a modified 1100f a few years ago, but ended up selling it to my father. He decided it was too much for him, so as of this weekend I bought it back. I have a thread in the photos section, and will update with more pics when I get the bike back home.
The story on this bike is that it was built in the 80's. Big bore, cams, headwork, everything. I remember this bike being fast when I bought it, but I rode it yesterday, and the thing is unreasonably FAST. My daily ride is a 2014 Moto Guzzi Griso 1200SE - Not a superbike but not slow either. 108HP and 84Tq with basic mods and tune. The cb is substantially faster than the guzzi, I'd say it pulls 30-40% harder than the Guzzi, despite being 50-60lbs heavier.
I'd love to (and I will) get this thing on a dyno this summer, but in the meantime, what kind of numbers are people putting up? I found a few Youtube videos of people pulling about 110HP, but this bike must have more... Or maybe the butt dyno needs re-calibrating |

My second 1123 resto-mod with Wiseco pistons is making 117 RWHP, with no other mods done to the motor. (Stock cams and carbs) The 1123's I've built with CruizinImage pistons haven't been dyno'd, but they're right up there as well, based on how they feel compared to the Wiseco motor. There are guys here who are undoubtedly making considerably more power, by porting, going with different cams, different carbs, etc.
I see you have stock carbs with pods. How does the bike pull through the power band? Those can be tough to dial in properly, but it sounds like yours might be all set. |

It's weird. My father said that every spring it runs poorly, but once you take it out and give it the "Italian tune up" it runs great for the rest of the season. I'd agree with that. Don't know why, but when I first got on it, first ride of the year, it ran really poorly, backfiring, and at one point running on only 3 cylinders. Then after riding about 20 miles it runs absolutely perfectly from a rider's perspective. Awesome throttle response, not on/off or jerking when you get on and off the throttle. And just stupid power at any RPM, no flat spots anywhere. I didn't redline it yesterday, but I had it close. Assuming this thing is Cammed, the profile seems to favor the high rpm, you can bearly hang on to the bike above 6k RPM.
It does seem to be running rich by the smell of the exhaust, and with the strange behavior after pulling it out of storage, I may at some point fiddle with the carbs a bit more. But then again... The riding experience doesn't leave much to be desired (except maybe better fuel MPG) |

I saw 126 hp, 83 ft.lbs when I dyno'd my 1123 10 years ago. Wiseco pistons, Mega Cycle cams, stock carbs with dyno jet stage 3 (155 jets) and K&N filters. Lots of power but sooted plugs alot and got horrendous mileage (@25mpg). I have since put in stage 1 (150) jets and no noticeable loss of power but mileage up to @35mpg. |

Good to know, at some point I will definitely pull carbs and at least see what I have for jets. From what I heard this bike has also been getting about 25MPG. It's not about MPG on a machine like this for sure, but it's at least pointing to the fact that it is running rich! |

Compared to the other big 3 motors of their time, they can make pretty comparable power. A Honda I believe cc for cc can make as much as a KZ or GS. But a Honda is much more limited, my guess on the average 1123ish build given it’s put together right and good components 110-120ish |

I had mine dyno'd last week.
1123 Wiseco kit, Mikuni RS36 carbs and pods, and 4 into 1 exhaust.
113.44hp and 75.22 torque. |

Welcome to the site, Wild.
Love the look of the Griso especially with the spoked wheels.
There is a guy near me that has the same bike with a Mistral exhaust. It sounds great! |

The 1123 I built for Matt Zwicker makes 141rwhp and 94ftlbs of torque. It’s got Wiseco piston, stock size valves, Web118 cam degreed to 100/105 (I had to machine the intake pockets deeper to do this cam timing), The head is a 900 head that I cut the chambers wider to fit the domes on the pistons and ended up at 27cc per chamber. It has a Dyna2000, CR33’s and a JayGui pipe. It’s a street monster and makes all of its power by 8600rpm. |

That's truly impressive. I hope to someday have the technical skills to build something like that |

Don, I haven’t done the math. I ended up with 27cc chambers and I believe the stock Wiseco pistons have 5cc domes. Only problem with that is I machined the web in between the intakes out and I went 1mm deeper on the intake pockets to get valve to piston clearance. At the 100 intake cam timing the web118 will hit the Wiseco dome.
It did have 245psi across the board. |

Jim, I have 120rwhp with a very similar cam (timing 102.5/107.5), same 1123 Wisecos with stock 1100F chamber which specifies a 10.5:1CR supposedly. I get 220 psi. The smaller 900F chamber certainly gives you a nice bump in power and torque. |
