A couple of hours ago, Nick (aka Swiftnick) texted me to let me know he had a bad crash on his '86 VFR750F yesterday. He didn't suffer a head injury, but he's got a couple of broken ribs, a broken pelvis, and a broken clavicle. He's currently in ER and scheduled for surgery tomorrow. I saw a pic of his bike and it's definitely totalled. Knowing Nick and how much he loved his VFR, the totaled bike probably hurts him as much as his injuries. By the look of the bike, I'd say he's a very lucky man to be alive.
Think good thoughts and say a prayer for Nick with hopes for a speedy recovery. |

Thanks guys. I got into tight reducing radius far faster than was possible. I don't know why, moments inattention maybe. Anyhow part way round I knew I was in trouble and tightened up the turn and hung off the bike. I woke up to EMS checking me out. Looks like I low sided and both bike and I slid into the barrier. ATGATT helped but I have some broken bones. Don’t think I will be riding again this season. |

Armco guardrails are great for keeping cars on the road but are unforgiving for motorcyclists. Good on you for giving it all you could and not being caught between the bike and the guardrail. Best of thoughts on a speedy and full recovery |

I must say. The few times that I’ve rode with him he always wears full protective gear. Looks like it worked. God bless hope to see you soon |

Thanks again for all the good wishes guys. I seem to be mending well but likely to be in a wheelchair for a few weeks. My fractured hip would be good with just crutches but broken ribs and shoulder preclude that unfortunately. |

Jesus Christ Nick! That was a big one! Where did this happen? Were you riding with anyone at the time?
Glad to hear you are on the mend and you didn't lose any extremities! Sure sucks about the bike, but that's minor in comparison to your wellbeing.
Take care buddy!!

Yikes Nick!
Just saw this and I’m very happy you weren’t seriously injured.
I’m hoping for a quick and complete recovery and I look forward to riding with you again at a NE ride.
Good luck moving forward and I’m happy you weren’t seriously injured.
Hope to See you soon on a ride |
