So last Saturday some friends and I took a nice ride up to Kenosha Wisconsin for burgers and beers....
Next to our stopping point was Redline Cycle in Kenosha...
Inside they had a Blue 1100F with these engine guards...which I had never seen before...Anyone seen something like these..?

Eric,

Made back in the day by a company called RACK FACTORY.

They also made a REALLY NICE rear luggage rack that could be removed with a key.

These are VERY HARD to come by and PRICEY when they do.

Were VERY HIGH QUALITY items when available.

It's ALMOST-notice I say ALMOST--worth buying the bike to get them.

Maybe they would sell you just the guards.

They would grind down to nothing going thru corners. Good for straight line interstate though

Yea, I could see how they'd get in the way with some heavy leaning....

no one mentioned the crease in the pipe to make them work. yuck. I think they're fugly. If they were free, I wouldn't put them on. I think the small black chrome KG's look better personally. that's what's on mine, and I'm still going to take them off at some point.
Aesthetically Engine guards in general just don't compliment the look of a bike

My guess is that these engine guards were intended to be used with a stock exhaust and not a 4 into 1 header as is shown in my picture....

Back in the day I had a set of these on an 1100F and never had :

1) mounting problems or found the need to modify the exhaust--bike had a Kerker 4-1 K2 system.

2) NEVER had them touch down in corners--and in those days I rode to the edges of the tires.

IF you like them--AND--can find a nice set that are not very expensive I'd say BUY THEM.

High quality construction. Good FIT and "different" enough to appeal to some versus the muck bigger K&G bars.

Just my 0.02c from Personal experience.

Hi, as 1983 1100F engine bars appear to be unobtanium now (except for a guy on eBay asking stupid money), does anyone have any for sale, or anyone with a technical background could draw them for me to get made here in NZ? I would need all dimensions.
Thanks all.
