How to Remove Speedometer / Odometer Reset Knob

To All of the Experts Out There:

I am going to remove my gauges (CDN/Euro 1100F version) from the cluster and need to know if I have to remove the odometer reset knob in order to pull the speedo out of the face plate. If the reset knob needs to come out, what is the process to remove the knob. I don't want to go in and make a huge mess of things when there is probably good advice available before I start.
Also, the rubber seals between the gauges and the faceplate look like they will disintegrate when I pull the gauges. Are these gaskets/seals available anywhere if I need to replace them?

Tom- yes you do need to remove the trip reset knob before removing the speedo from the cluster plate; it has a left hand thread so the trick is to carefully turn the knob slowly clockwise to get the knob to work it's way out. Sometimes they are stubborn so patience & a bit of skill is required. I usually apply a very slight touch of "pulling outwards" pressure whilst turning the knob- seems to work for me.
The rubber cushions between the gauges & the plate are NLA & becoming more & more scarce however here is a pair on Ebay right now- snap them up whilst you can...

Some of the later ones have a screw in the end of the knob. If there is a hole in the end of the knob then undo that first.

I've never purchased from these people. They used to show having a lot more speedometer parts. I wish I had bought myself a couple years ago when there was a better selection available.
