Yea go on fleabay. I looked forever for that kit. It was discontinued by tamiya years ago. I had to get that one from Hong Kong. It's the CB750 Custom Tuned. It has decals for the 900F in the kit if you want to use those instead. The kit called for gloss aluminum for the body paint, but I wanted something with some flake in it so I used House of Colors silver dust. Some of the chrome parts in the kit will have to be stripped and shot with alclad as the chrome is not uniform. Tamiya also made an 80 CB750 in 1/12 and 1/6 scale. |

There were actually several models of that kit. 1/12th with hop up parts and a stocker. 1/8 and 1/6th also.
What I'm gonna build when I can no longer ride.
Got a closet full of Galant VR-4's too. |

Very nice job on the model! It brings back memories of when I was a kid. I spent hundreds of hours building model cars and planes. One of my aunts used to give me 2 or 3 models on my birthday and they'd keep me busy for weeks. When they were done, they went on display on top of my desk. My mom was not allowed to go near them with her dust cloth! If we got sick of one of them, my brother and I would fill one with match heads and light it up. Or we'd put a fire cracker inside and blow them up. We had a Jaguar XKE model that we blew up at least three times with a rebuild in between each.
I have no doubt that my love for building bikes and cars originated from my childhood model-building days. Good times.
I bet a bunch of you have similar stories.
Thanks for sending me through the "Way Back" machine! |

Wow! Spectacular modeling! I have had my eye on one of those for a while now. Might just have to pull the trigger. The only giveaway is the size of the metal flake. Does look like bass boat gel coat in proportion. |
