Bike belongs to an old friend He is thinking of selling. It ran when he last shut it off. Has not been used since 88 I think. See anything special? Tank is junk I think. Are these sport kit rearsets? I think I see some kind of linkage.

Looks like it to me. Might get more money if he cleans the carbs and gets it running.

I'll give him $100 for it.

Probably the handle bars too as those were part of the Sportkit package.

Gauges are likely the 150mph type as well.

I dont think any 900 came with a 150mph speedo in the US. That was only on the old 750's. 79's and maybe 80's. Confused

Is this going to be a purchase for yourself or are you fishing for a selling price?
Cause if your thinking of it for yourself ,, he should cut you a deal if you are friends ..
Me personally would give a friend .... $5 hun for it .. you said it ran b4 ,,,, so
How many miles are on it ?

$500 was the price already batted around between us two. I was not real interested until I found out about the sport kit. Laughing So, now my 15 year old son saw it, plus I have a fat Federal contract this summer............

I'd buy it for $500 without a second thought. If you pass on it, please put me in contact with the owner! I'll come pick it up and pay cash!

I will probably be around, is that a weekend? I have some venison left, although around this time I prefer ribeye on the grill! Let me know your plans, I may take a day off and show you some neat roads in the area. Highway 65 throung the Net Lake Indian Reservation is nice, as is my road, Scenic byway State 38 from Bigfork to Grand Rapids.

Sounds like he likes to ride. I wish I had more time to ride mine. When I was young and single, I didn't even own a car.

Sounds good to me. I am deep into some work right now, with deadlines looming, but I will see how things work out.

Hay Greg.....I acquired a 77/8 Honda XL250 dirt bike. Its in sad shape, but Im going to try and restore it. It doesnt have a gas tank and I just bought one off of Ebay for $40 for an 82 XL250. Do you have any idea if the tank will fit? I cant see why Honda would change the backbone of a 250 dirtbike in just 4 years, but one never knows... Cool

I used to have a XL500R, I'm pretty sure all of the tanks (250CC and up) were all the same on the XL's...

I am buying it. What do I need, those cb400 handle bars? I will also be needing a new(er) gas tank. Preferably a silver one. I had one of these bikes back in 1981 brand new. Here is a photo of me, the bike and my little cousin looking on. I have all my hair still, he lost his, but he is also 30 now! Time flys.
