Is anyone from the group travelling down for the Gator Nationals in Gainesville, FL this upcoming weekend?

For me it is a long trip, made it many times in the past, twice a year actually for the Prostar motorcycle drags. I get ESPN coverage of qualifying and elimination almost live coverage. All I miss is the smell of nitro.

You live close to it don't you? If so seeing these in person is a trip worth taking, since the facillities at Gainesville are much better than at my local track National Trail. Just not enough seating here and it is just hard to see anything except on the big Jumbotron TV,so if I see it on TV anyway,no reason to leave home.

As a Corporate sponsor (Pontiac-GMC) GM passes out tickets for us to distribute to our dealers (regardless of Division) and I try to make sure that my best "Techs" get first pass on them. They really look forward to it every year. Besides the tickets, we give them hospitality tent passes and prefered parking.

My son (17 year old) expressed an interest this year so I'll probably be taking him down for Saturdays action. I am beginning to think I'm a glutton for punishment after the traffic in Daytona and the traffic associated with Gainesville on race weekend.

One advantage..we do have the Corporate seating in the tower beind the staging lanes - on hell of a view in air conditioned comfort.
