Does anyone have experience installing the Primary tensioner made by Brent Hyde ? I have one but Brent neglected to provide the instructions for installing the darn thing.

Attention!
As far as I can tell, this primary chain tensioner only works if it is tensioned manually with the screw. If you want to tension it hydraulically, like the original, you will no longer have a reasonable oil pressure in the engine because the plunger in the tensioner has too much play.
At least this is the case with my V&H tensioner. I think I bought the tensioner in 2020.
regards

I seem to recall it is manually tensioned, intended for race applications more than a road bike. Might be mistaken though. Email Brent: brentmopar at xtra.co.nz |

Fairly easy process to setting tensioner, tighten to remove slack in chain, back off one full turn and then set the lock nut (I believe there is a torque setting he recommends but can't recall). You need to plug and seal the original hole where the hydraulic primary tensioner feed was also, using something like the attached. |
