I've now relocated to Akron OH from the UK, and tomorrow i'm off to look at an '81 CB750F at $3k or a '83 CB1100F at $5k
both seem to be in good nick but looking at the photo's the 750 looks the best, i'll report back my findings tomorrow evening...
And I hope to meet up with some of the local CB-Fers in the future...

| Welcome! There were a couple members here selling bikes over the summer. I don't believe all of them sold. May be a little further, but you would likely get a better history. Plus, a little extra distance let's you see some of the U.S. |
Any pointers to any bikes for sale gratefully received. |

TDM34, did you and I talk about an 82 CB900F? I believe it was on FB. If you get a chance, send me a message. We might be able to work out a deal.
Thanks! |

Sit on a US bike, probably a little different than what you are used to.
And for not much more than that US 1100f, you can have your choice of one these well-cared for Commonwealth beauties with the boonies, clipons, rearsets, and Mickey Mouse meters that you are so used to. All right now sport stock seats but the Corbin is on the shelf if you like that look. Then again some like to chase after the US 100f fuse covers and mini cowl when they break off so these might not be your cup of tea.
And perhaps have it delivered to Akron:

Well after over 300 miles today, I can only describe both bikes as ruins with undisclosed issues, so I went to look at a '87 Yam FJ1200
which turned out as described by the vendor so I bought it...
But i'll be on the look out for a CB-F project bike in the very near future... |

81 / 82 CB750F's are very nice bike if the FJ12 suits your need for raw power. The 81/82 750's had better forks and brakes but as you noticed crap is just that (unless a full restoration is what you are looking for. |
