I use google photo and dropbox, both work well for me.
I have google photo set to sync with my phone, so I can just snap the pics while I am working on stuff and they are uploaded and ready to share/post online as soon as I am back at the computer. Works well for me, still cost free for now.
I mainly use dropbox to copy over photos I want to embed in posts, plus a few other things. |

I switched to Imgur a couple of years ago and didn't move all my pictures. This is what I get when I try to login. |

Photobucket has been a pain. I bought the $4.99 package and now they say exceeding limits. Just about done |

www.imgur.com is my current photo host. Works good.
Why use an external host? The pics need to be "on the internet" to share. Simply having them on my computer doesn't count. Unless I am stupid. Again. Still!
I stole my pics back from those thieving Photofucket bastards (cost me one night and a twelve pack) when they first started to withhold them, and am now a free man again.

Good question, I've been saying this for years. The site has the ability to host pictures, without the use of an external host. The Con is that the pics are displayed at the bottom of the post, as opposed to being able to have them alternating with text. A minor point, but the ability is there. |

I try to use the "add attachment" button to post pics straight to the forum and it never works. I have screwed with it and given up. I'm not very tech savy so that doesn't help |

Steve, I will post another tutorial with a description of the process tomorrow, but first, a couple of questions: do you have the pics you want to post in a folder on your computer? Are they sized at approx. 1000x750? I'd be happy to try to help over the phone if that helps you, my friend. |

I just added a frame on posting pics without using an external host, here:

See Page 2, about halfway down... |
