I called a place local to me regarding renitriding a set of cb1100 cams. They quoated me 250.00. Does this seem high?
The cams are at the bottom of their specs, so I am debating whether it's worth it to recoat them anyways. Any opinions would be appreciated. |

Without knowing much about it I can say my new Dynoman cams were several hundred dollars so 250.00 seems pretty good |

Nitriding price seems expensive as they are around US $80.00 to do a set here in NZ
But price aside it is always worth doing as the process was done to a minimum on the OEM cams and IMO even lower on the 1100 cams.

I had a set of 1100 cams dinner several years ago and I think I paid less than $100 for both. Be sure to ask them what nitriding they will be doing to them.
I've used Northeast coatings many times on crankshaft and on my cams and had a ton of valves coated when working in Nascar country.
Not sure if you have to be a dealer or not.
