What did you do to your bike today

I upgraded my bulb from a 1400lm led bulb. to a 4000lm led bulb. I rode about 80 miles today the last 35 or so was a wet and dark highway got caught in the drizzle just glad to be home in 1 piece . i stayed warm and dry thanks to my waterproof heated gear. . the weatherman should get a F !

Before it started to rain yesterday I washed the bike with hot water removing all the grime and salt from the other day when i got caught in the rain.. they look so different nice n washed👍... 630am it's 59 degrees on dec 21 it's raining tho tomorrow 50 no rain kick standup fellas

Replaced clutch basket damper rubbers and gear shift star on my 1100F. Rubbers came from lunterenholland and shift start from captain.

Honestly, I let it sit unmolested for a day. Seems like the past few days, every time I work on it I find something else that is broken.

I sorta feel ya pain brother ..take a day and go over it and make a list of what needs fixing... go grab a six pack and come back start checking fixing the hardest thing first or the easiest so u don't get all pissed off and work ya way down the list👍

Oh, I know that feeling - been working on an HD I crashed in 2012, thought I had it all fixed & ready to sell. Nope - clutch &/or trans damaged, not looking fwd to opening it up & sorting it out.

G'day Fers.
Today I suffered Cymleritis!
I've had the bottom end together for a week so today I decided to throw the clutch in. I know it's better left off till the lump is in the frame but I'm getting impatient. Lining the thick and thin pinions up to insert the basket I thought something is wrong. Had a look at the Cymler and it showed the thin one on the outside. Oh bugger I must've stuffed up. Split the cases AGAIN and pulled the primary shaft out. Pulled it apart and started scratching my head. Nothing like what's in the book. A quick look on the Service Honda site. You bastard, the book only shows the 900 and no words about the 1100 being different. I had it right in the first place. Cases back together.
At least it prevented me from going shopping with the missus.

I had that sinking feeling and touch of panic myself when I first tried to put the clutch basket on. I did not attempt to take it out of the frame and split the cases though!

After the bike wash yesterday today Took forever to start sounded like shit at first I dunno why ....after about 5 minutes it ran good went for a 40 mile ride .rode great cruising @70 ...next time I'm going to wash it with a whipey and a quitips smh lol still have that blinker relay clicking as a turn signal is on but it's not.

G'day Fers.
Down in the shed as SWMBO is cooking and making the house even hotter. And the BEER fridge is in the shed! Put a helicoil in one of the cam cap bolt holes. Installed the cams (head on bench) and set the shims to 3 to 4 thou. So much easier and won't have to worry about them till she's run in.

You don't need to split the cases to remove the primary drive gear driving the clutch basket. Just undo the centre bolt and it all slides off.

G'day Captain.
Had a senior moment (problem is I'm not THAT old) The cylmer threw me so I had to check.
Yes I know. Not keen to jam screwdrivers where their not supposed to be and it was tight! Just did the rubbers so I know it was tight with red loctite. Not in the pits anymore so can take my time. The cylinder sleeves only left the US on Friday.
Bugga I have to ride the BSA's, lucky me.

got my 900 running. been sitting for a while. VP110
leaded holds up better than pump gas with Stabil.

If i remember correctly VP 110 has a distinctive aroma as well.

Ordered a ceramic fiber and stainless steel needle mat with steel wool for my exhuast baffle .has a regular fiberglass packing no ss or wool let's see if she quiets down a bit merry xmas to all

The charging system can only put out 20 Amps max and the bike takes 9 Amps to run with the headlight and driving/tail lights on. That's what I was referring to when I said be careful of the heated gear.

Hey DJ just wanted to give you a update on this .was doing some research. Turns on the high performance stator I put on that came in the parts bin is from electrosport industries puts out 20% more power than the stock OEM one. So I'm way good as far as Amps being drawn .I'm drawing about 3 amps for headlight and turn signals .(all led). And about 14amps on max high on the heating gear. Merry xmas to all and happy holidays

I wanted to put this info out there just incase anyone wondering about running heated gear .

Ordered new Kenda 657s for the '79 CB750F rat bike. Not in a hurry for them, as it will be a couple months before decent riding weather, and I have a showw in a couple weeks to get the GL1000 ready for, plus rides scheduled for the GL1800 (weather permitting).

I've put 1100 miles mostly this month alone. Plus with my new heated gear I'm riding all winter as long as no snow or rain like today... tomorrow they say 50 it's 55 right now but pouring

Revzilla got them to me in a day free shipping I was surprised got here before the bearings which get here tomorrow

I've never pulled a rear wheel non the less a shaft driven one. This is gonna be fun thinking about starting it now so i can ride tomorrow in the good weather .I can paint my rim glossy black also

Isn't heated gear great? We traditionally ride to Cumberland Falls State Park (KY) for lunch on New Year's Day.

Pulling rear wheel isn't so hard. Read FSM and follow instructions. On my GL1800, I just lay the bike on the right side crash bars, pull out the center stand, remove 5 lug nuts and off it comes. I keep a spare wheel and tire so I can roll it back in the garage while having the tire swapped (Walmart - I run a car tire on the back). I suspect other shaft drive bikes are like the GL1000 - center stand, maybe remove or unbolt a muffler for clearance, remove axle and spacers, pull wheel.
