in balmy 44 degrees courtesy of Messrs. Oxford, Gerbings, and W&S.
The bike is running very well (as usual) and seems to deal with the electrical load well. I'm going to look for a voltmeter that fits the gauge hole in the fairing. Looks to be about the same size as the aftermarket gauges cars use.

If you really want a Honda volt meter I may have a spare one. Shipping to USA will be steep though. I may be able to do something with the shipping as I have a box of stuff to send to another member in the near future. |

If your deal on a clock from Australia does not work out I have 2 or 3 that o need to sell , as well as voltmeters . Also have the plastic cover ( have a set ) that you are missing in the photos . If you just want to cover up the hole .

Another nice 40ish ride today- helped by blue skies and a brilliant sun. I don't know how many of you are familiar with Advrider "Tag" games; they are a nice little incentive to gp for a ride. Over the years (the NJ game has been going on since 2008) you get to learn some interesting things and see some neat stuff. I think there are games in pretty much every state and regional games as well. Worth checking out.

Another fantastically clear day of brilliant blue skies and strong sunshine. Mid-30s, about my current limit for enjoying motorcycling. I figue when it's in the 20's and overcast, I'd be wishing for days like this lol
For you city folk, that thing in the bakgrund is call a barn quilt
BTW, does anyone have recommendations for either shorty levers or regular length levers that position them closer to the grip? |

G'day Walter.
Nice bike mate. Down here we call it a F2B or a Cocacola Rollerdoor. Not seen one for quite a few years.
What's that white stuff on the ground? LOL Oh, 44F not 44C LOL
Cheers |

Thanks, but I'm confused-- what do you call an FB2 or Cocacola Rollerdoor.? The bike, the shed, the barn quilt, or the thing on the blue pedestal? I googled both terms and got a Honda car and s portable cooler lol
Although we have had some snow lately (early for us) the ground in the last picture is actually gravel. |

Roller door is a type of garage door that rolls up rather than folding in sections. It was advertised in Australia heavily in the 70s and 80s. The CB900 Bol d'Or was given the nickname 'roller door' here - rhyming slang. The term 'Coca Cola' is from the paint scheme, that the CB900F2 (the '2' was for the faired model) came out in red and white like a can of Coca Cola. |

G'day Bone, thanks mate. All DOHC air cooled CB's are Rollerdoors.
Nice F2B, a mate had one new (I had the CB750FZ first black one in Oz). We'd take turns on the back as it was the only way he could pull stands.
I have a sad one that I'll just put on the road as a plain F. Fairing and some mounts surplus to needs.
Cheers |

Thanks. That F2 photo is the ‘before’ picture of my rebuild. It looks good at 20 paces, but was needing some work. Not many left with the fairing, so I have elected to rebuild with it intact. I have another one that is naked. Hope to have the rebuild done soon. Where in the south coast are you? I am in Bowral, not too far from the ‘Gong or Nowra. |

That's a really sharp color combo....
A friend of mine has a saying about red that applies here.."Toys are best in red" , and that applies to motorcycles , sports cars , hot rods, and hot women with red dresses.... |

The weather, while not quite frightful, was hardly delightful- being in the 40s (F) and overcast. But it was nice enough for some Rollerdoor riding lol |

Another late December rideable day. I'm getting a knee replaced 1/8, so getting rides in while I can.
I suspect my battery is about done (good timing!)-- fires up just fine when cold (after being on the tender for some time), but after an hour or so of riding with electric vest/gloves/grips (turned up a bit)) it won't spin the starter, even though it reads ~12V at rest. Charging system seems fine- putting out 13.5-14.3 when running.
I think I had an interesting "tell" on it- after riding a while, whenever I stopped (at a stop sign or traffic light) my Zumo 550 would indicate "power loss, continue on battery?"- but when I pulled away from the stop it would go back on bike power. I guess there's a threshold sensor in the unit. So, no turning off the bike on the ride.
Anyway, I got a nice picture out of the ride |

143 total for the liner (77), gloves (30), and grips (36) if they were on maximum. But I doubt that I ever exceed 50-75% on any of them except when starting out. |

I think I was reading that the system puts out about 250 to 300w max as the spec. You're drawing more than half of capacity with just your heated gear
I bet it was nice and toasty though |

Yes-- I'm good to the lower-mid 30s- as long as its sunny and dry.
But now I'm curious- what do the ignition & lights draw in normal operation? |
