First sorry for becoming part of the highjack of your thread. Hope your feeling better. How is the bike healing?

Sunday morning riding with friends in the Hampton’s out of nowhere a big loose dog came at me.
I was riding my 82 900f at about 6/10 going around 50 mph on tight backroads.
Next thing I know I’m down rolling along the ground listening to my bike crash.
Fortunately I was wearing a full first gear riding suit with shoulder elbow back hip and knee padding.
Also first gear cold weather gloves with knuckle protection. Riding boots and a Bell helmet.
All of my gear is damaged.
Standing up after the crash I realized that there were no cuts or severe pain except for my right thumb. The bike lay with oil coming from the left side lower case. Turn signals tank exhaust all were damaged.
You just never know, I’m rethinking my going quickly on local roads. |

Jim, good to hear you are OK, another reason why ATGATT is smart! Hopefully your bike can be repaired over the winter. How did the dog make out?
I often think about that very thing when I take my bike out of the city and let it rip. You never know when a stray dog, deer, wild turkey might cross your path.
Take care Jim!

| Glad you're (relatively) OK, Jim. Get your hand checked, and let us know what parts you need, they'll be on the way. |

| Glad your okay! That says a lot about good riding gear. Hope your bike can be repaired in time for the Spring Ride. |

ATGATT is the way to go. Hopefully, the bike is repairable and you have survived a nasty crash.
I know, as I got a large buck over in Pennsylvania 15 years ago and got hit by a Toyota last September.
All the best,

+1 Hamptons as in eastern Long Island? Can you sue that fucker with the loose dog? |

So sad to hear about your poor CB. Glad you your personal damage isn't as bad as it could have been if you were not wearing riding gear. Post a parts list and sizes for your gear. You will be welcome to any of my extra parts and riding gear that will fit.

| I'll vouch for protective riding gear. Damn right! Glad you made out OK Jim. |

3 days later and I’m starting to feel better, right thumb, right hand, right ankle, left shoulder, left hip. I also put a good scrape into my Bell helmet.
Some how I was lucky to do multiple Barrel rolls across the pavement. No tumbling, no impact into hard objects.
Any of you who have ridden with me know that I ALWAYS wear full protective gear. I had not had a get off in 35+ years. (Please don’t count the tip over in Woodstock)
Now the important stuff.
Does anyone know if a stock chrome exhaust can be repaired? Serious scrapes at the end of the muffler.
If not who has ideas where I may locate a nos or “near perfect” left side stock exhaust.
I’ve already ordered switch gear mirrors foot pegs, turn signals, engine cover.
Any help would be appreciated.

OK, we should be back to where things went south. Any luck on the exhaust? What else are you still looking for? |

For aftermarket if you want to keep the 4:2 setup then Motad makes a very nice stainless 4:2. |
