New project

Here’s my new project. It’s a 1980 and the tank is roached bad! Rusted through top and bottom. It’ll take some time but for $200 I can’t complain. The engine turns over, check compression in the morning and start stripping and cleaning. Probably sell the luggage/sissy seat and the seat and tail.

I've got a Silver 1980 750F tank with no rust, very clean inside, petcock included. $200 plus shipping cost and it's yours Smile

Nice find for very little $$! You're going to have some fun with that for sure.

Thanks, I may take you up on that. Right now I gotta start a budget and plan the build. I have a spare tank but it’s rusted and I don’t know if I want to go through the trouble of cleaning it.

Thanks guys, for right now get the top end freshened up and carbs rebuilt. The bike has been sitting under a tarp in LA since 84. I turned her over but there was such little compression. I checked the valves and they were way out of spec. I pulled them all last night and they all look good. The bike only has 14,000 miles. I’ll put new 17” wheels and some paint and hopefully have her up and running in a few months. Updates to come.
