In an attempt to break up the winter doldrums, I'd like to schedule our second annual winter breakfast meetup. Target date is Sunday, January 28 at the Capital City Diner in Albany, NY.

Is this date ok? Let's start getting a headcount so we can reserve a big table or tables well in advance.

Tom

I will be there and I will see if SteveG is off that day.

2nd annual? Seems like more than that (unofficially anyway)

I am currently looking for a 1981-82 CB750F triple tree (upper & lower with the stem.)

Our first "somewhat official" breakfast was 2 years ago sometime around the new year, when I delivered your VF1000R parts bike and my resto-mod engine for you to rebuild.
The next "unofficial" breakfast was when Joey and I met up with you there the following August to pick up the rebuilt motor that you ran in the back of my pickup truck for demonstration purposes.
The second "official" breakfast (way more participants) was last January when I delivered the motor you presently are rebuilding for my next resto-mod.
This will be our third "official" breakfast. But you're right, it seems like we've been there more than just a few times. Maybe because we've eaten at identical diners in the NY area during some of the NE rides?

Just can't beat diners in my my book! The NE guys had a blast at "Jumbo's" in Gouverneur a few years ago ... something about a spicy little tart that gave us a run for our money. Then there was the "Roscoe Diner" last spring where we arrived at the same time as ST Doc and his posse came riding up.

Shouldn't this thread be in the Rides section? Or is nobody planning to ride there? Wink Wink

Good one Peter! I have a question to ask of you. Last summer my ignition switch stopped working. I swapped it for a different one and all is fine but the two different keys drive me nuts. If I mail you my ignition could you ( or would you) rebuild it?

Unfortunately I cannot attend the get together this year, as it conflicts with a pre-planned trip. Crying or Very sad

Fortunately, however, Nugget will be in attendance and bringing a ton of "F" parts with him for the swap meet! Does anyone coming to the breakfast have any parts needs so I can help him load it up before he goes?

I've got a parts thread going in the For Sale forum for reference: http://www.cb1100f.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=85939

Thanks for organizing this and I hope to see you all at the NE Spring Ride later this year.

Dean

It looks like we have the following people planning to go so far:

Phil (Wamkap1100)
Goose and Hiro
Cliffiec
Toddk
Peter Smick
Tomk and possible mystery guest
Doc Olds

SteveG - maybe

We'll need a fairly solid head count the week before so I can reserve a large table for us. They're very cool about accommodating, so it should work out nicely for our group.

Hopefully it will be warm enough for cigars in the parking lot after breakfast. Wink

I think we met around 10am last year. Does that work for everyone?

It does for me as Albany is about 3-4 hours away depending on how quickly I can get out of the city.

I have a small soda blast cabinet that I'm selling. If one of you wanted it, I can bring it and save you the hassle of coming to get it or having me ship it. It's an Aubin Company (https://www.aeaubin.com/1400.html) model 1400RC and model 1312 venturi vacuum unit. Cabinet is 16" deep x 19" high x 24" wide. Comes with an abrading pencil, (nozzle) internal light, foot switch, regulator, brand new (unused) rubber gloves, and instructions. I'll also include the rolling cart that I adapted for use with the cabinet.

You won't find this powerful enough to remove heavy rust and paint, but it will be good for cleaning carb bodies, removing light crud from plated parts that you want to preserve, etc. I have it on CL for $250 but will give one of you a much better deal. PM me if you're interested.

Does any one need something specific? I have a really nice pipe,an extra Corbin seat and a boat load of small stuff i.e. bolts hardware washers spacers. And the 1100F with the Ontario motor. Just ask if you are looking for anything.

Since I think there are a number of people who share CB & VF passions- what's the feeling about extending this breakfast invite to the VF list?

BlueThunder
Nugget
Tomk1960 and possible mystery guest
