Yes actually when I took the photo the carb drain tubes were missing but now fitted with clear tube so I can see any offending leaking float needles. This is not the mistake - have a look at the rear view and see whats missing...
Actually credit to my neighbor we were having a Braai (Barbecue) last night admiring the lines (even the SWAMBO's were too), after many beers and wine he spotted it even though he is not a HONDA man but is from that era and remembers the RC well..
The mirrors are stock and like rocking horse sh*t to find. My other RC has a damaged LH mirror which is FUBAR so I am replacing them with these on the next RC build..

This is an easy one to spot.....he used nitrogen instead of air in the tires.

Evening All,
Hope your all ready for or already enjoyed the New Year celebrations. Apologies for not being online on the forum but have been entertaining family most of the month so projects put on hold , CBX is progressing so will start a thread shortly.
An update on the exhausts, I have researched shipping a single set of exhaust to New York and it would be in the region of $500 air freight, in addition you require an export licence so its a bit of a pain but not out of the question. I will continue to research options but at the moment delivering a cost effective option is limited.
let me know if you have any ideas..

I believe there is large-ish a 'Honda' logo missing from the angled rear panel on the very rear of the tail piece, just above the top of the tail light. I vaguely recall they were in some kind of day-glo pinkish colour with white or black writing???
That said, you have achieved an outstanding outcome and on such a worthy motorcycle. Exquisite work Cary and as the owner of a CBX, looking fwd to seeing that thread.
BTW, did it get a set of Captain's cam chain tensioners?
Enjoy your well earned privilege of riding and caring for such an iconic motorcycle.

Yes correct Tony they should have a Honda decal on the rear of the Seat, i have seen them on eBay Germany as a separate item

Evening all from a very warm South Africa, thanks to all of you who has shown an interest in my RC rebuild. So the bike is now complete barring the changing back to the original indicators the rear Honda decal and syncing of the carbs now it has hit 500kms. Below is the Sunday breakfast run with the KZN bike group, the bike performed flawlessly on a run of 120Km's 60+ miles. I have to say this bike continues to impress me with its handling and performance of a bike 36 years of age and it would be my daily ride if it was not for its value - oh well the trusty 2001 Africa Twin and 94 Fireblade will have to keep up the good work!
So I am closing posting this thread- now and as requested I will post a new thread on my CBX rebuild, I am a long way in so will post the build pictures.. oh yes and here is the next project after my CBX - paintwork underway..

PS. looking at shipping exhausts by sea freight so hold on in there for RC/F/CBX owners... awaiting costs..
