Yes indeed, and quite a few of us would love to have one. Too bad it's yet another bike that Honda won't sell in the U.S. Sad

The 400 is awesome as well. Just the thing for a beginner like myself. Or an old man unlike myself.

Then you'd have to worry about getting parts when you'd need them.

I think Honda forgot how to install horsepower in large diplacement engines... the 400-4's numbers are ok though....

That CB1300 looks pretty sweet but the new Gold Wing looks like motorcycling perfection to me.

I just saw the 2018 model for the first time. It's a beauty and more in line with a sport/touring look, which I prefer. Very nice...but the starting price isn't quite as nice. Sad

Priced new trucks lately? Nothing is cheap anymore. Some of the rebates I've seen is more than what the vehicle cost new when we were kids.

Yes, I bought a new F-150 last year but had $11K knocked off it plus a great trade on my 2013.

I'll clarify my statement. Bikes and trucks aren't exactly apples-to-apples and while a GL is nice, a new FJR, ST1300, or a Concours 1300 can be had for a LOT less money. (Leftovers are out there in the $10K range.) My local dealer told me that the sport touring market isn't selling a lot, so I have to wonder how well GL's are selling. I know that there are plenty of Harley owners willing to fork out that kind of money for a full dresser, but not me.

I'd be curious to know if a new GL handles anything close to a sport/tourer. I've ridden several in the past few months and they're awesome. Lots of bike for not bad money, so I have to wonder about the GL price tag. Hence my statement - starting price for a GL is not so nice.

Tom, you are absolutely correct in that leftovers are available for very good prices. My CTX1300, the dealer knocked $10K off the list price - which was brand new and less than 1 mile on it. Got a great bike at a great deal for only $7500!

Somehow the 2016 bikes of this model seem to be selling for the same price as the 2018's.....Fun little go slow training bike (if you are an old fat guy..Ya got to recognize your limitations..Yuk Yuk)

How difficult would it be for Honda to import the CB1300 this time? The bike wasn't released to the USA years ago on the first go round. The colors were better then.

I'm pretty certain it's about the DOT compliance and fees, as well as import duties and their estimation of sales volume. If they thought it was profitable enough, pretty sure they'd be doing it.

I'm sure you're right, but one has to wonder WTF made Honda think an underpowered and dated looking CB1100 would sell better than the much nicer looking and better performing 1300. Confused

Ignorance is bliss, but stupidity is forever...
The CTX1300 was 2014 only. And it blows your 1100F (which we haven't seen in 2 years) away - in every category. Not even close. A dirt bike is good for the dirt but hardly adequate for cross country touring - which is why I got the CTX1300. Great touring bike.
