My broken collar bone is not healing and the doctor told me I have been over doing it so I will not be making any parts for the next several weeks. I have good stock of starter clutches, pickup screens & banded clutches available but once they are gone then you'll have to wait until I get better. |

Take care of yourself first, man. Heal well, that's what is most important. |

Thanks for the encouragement and advice. The worst part is not being able to ride. I also wanted to install my 'new' JMC swingarm but that's going to wait, too. |

Take it easy and get well soon while things are slow, demand will spike when the leaves start turning orange and the snow flurries are flying and we start 6 months of maintenance. |

Take it easy, and recover right the first time. Don't push yourself too early, it will only hinder your overall time frame for recovery. |

That stinks, Cary - sorry it had to happen during riding season. Listen to your doctor and do what he tells you. Despite what we may think, we don't heal as fast as we did when we were 20.
Hang in there and catch up on some shows with Netflix or Hulu.

If that bone heals up separated, it could be a bitch to get it to mend and take a very long time, so it's far better to sit down now and let it heal! Hope it gets better soon. |

Get well soon, Cary.
I need more parts in winter for my new project.
Your starter- clutch ( bought in Europe used, we were talking about) is working great in my 1100f.
Best wishes from Hannover/Germany

I'm out of the following and won't be making any more for the next several weeks:
Starter clutches
Oil Pumps
I still have a couple of oil pickups and a banded clutch available. |

I guess I ordered mine in the nick of time, just checked tracking and they showed up at the house today. Hope you heal up in time for some nice fall riding, and thanks again for the goodies! |

Good news! I saw the doctor again yesterday and according to the x-rays, the bone has healed. I'm being scheduled for an MRI to find out why I'm still in so much pain. |

I'm almost glad to hear this. Happy for the healing, but the pain part sucks. |

My hip is finally to the point where I seldom have any pain at all, but it took 5 months to get here. A couple of setbacks in the healing process just made it tender I guess. One issue was a post-op infection that required a month of having a bag of Cipro I.V. twice a day, the other was a stupid mistake by the host of the hip (me) causing a stress injury that caused extra pain that lasted for several months.
So, in my case it's finally going well, it just took longer than normal.
I hope your pain issue is inconsequential in the long run too. |

Good news Cary. Take it as slow as possible (ha) till it gets less painful. It is after all trauma to the area. Mine's a mess. outer break healed one atop the other and the inner healed with both ends sticking forward some. They still ache from time to time 40 years later. Seeya. g |

Thanks Gene, I have the same problem. I'm not one for taking just kicking back and taking it easy and I was worried that I my activities were not allowing the bone to heal. So 4 months later the bone has finally healed and now they are taking my complaints of excruciating pain seriously and looking for soft tissue damage.
Cipro is some serious stuff, I hope you didn't suffer any adverse side effects from taking it.

That does sound like a mess. At this point, I'd settle for some aches. But 40 years later, yikes! |

Well, it's been 21 weeks since the injury and I'm still lots of pain. The MRI didn't indicate any soft tissue damage nor bony union and my clavicle is impinging upon the shoulder joint so I'm scheduled for surgery next Tuesday. I'll be in a sling for about six weeks so I'm definitely not able to make any parts or work on my bike not to mention ride. At least I got to ride a few weeks this year and will make up it next spring. |

Stinks to be layed-up for such a long time but hopefully the surgery will solve the reason you have been experiencing so much pain.
Your one-handed typing skills will be much improved.
Good luck, Cary. |

Sorry to hear you've had to suffer for so long Cary. I hope that the surgery is 100% successful. 6 weeks will go by fast and hopefully you'll have a pretty young physical therapist help you get back full range of motion with no pain.

I hope you heal up quickly and elimibate the pain. It is amazing that Tom brings up the pretty young PT option. I got to do PT exercises with two verrrrry nice PT therapists while I was recovering from surgery and I can tell you it was verrrry motivational.
Good luck with the surgery and know you have lots of support and well wishes.

Hang in there Cary. I'm with Dave, nice young therapists are ideal. The 30ish Malaysian woman at the rehab I stayed in for over a month was way awesome. |
