I can do it. I'm about 1.5 hours away, have a pickup and ramp, and some room in the garage. How long do you expect it to be stored? |

Not sure, really only want the engine. You could keep the rest if you need? Perhaps a month to arrange shipping. |

OK, well if all you want is the motor, I might be convinced to build a shipping crate for it. A couple of 2x4's and a sheet of OSB, and it should be good for the cross Atlantic journey. Let me know, man. |

I shipped an 1100F motor last year and had to take the top end off(head, cylinders) to get under UPS's 150 pound limit.
I shipped in two containers. A home built 2x4 for motor. I put cylinders & head in separate boxes... It was around $200 to ship everything.
There may be different freight company's out there that don't have the weight limit but I don't know of any. I never checked Fed-Ex.. |

FedEx FREIGHT shipped a 325Lbs CBX motor No Issues whatsoever. All I had to do was ensure it was easy to unload--so I had it delivered to the loading dock at work .
NO PROBLEMS at all. |

Rick & Yermaun,
I would interested in the rest of the 1100F.
Rick maybe you have plans for the rest of the bike not sure, not trying to mess that up for you.
Just though I could use the rest as a parts bike and I'm close too.
Rick, I could pay your gas plus a far price for the Non-Motor roller bike? Just a thought.
Best Regards, |

You just now noticed that I have the disease??
Remember, I do have (3) CB900F's that I want to upgrade. (Forks, wheels, swing arms, rear lattice sets, and want to do a new paint job on a 1100F frame, extra one would hurt)
But obviously Rick may want it for some of the same reasons.
Best Regards, |

Pics weren't great on advert. |

Mark, Let me get it back here and communicate with Jim. Once he's satisfied (maybe he'll want some of the other things I've got hanging around, as well), then we can discuss what's left, OK? |

This has been in my garage for a couple of weeks, while I took care of Family business, but yesterday the motor got pulled, and today I went to Home Depot (Dad calls it the "Big Nail Store") to get the supplies needed to box it up.
Back home in NM this would be easy, because I have a whole bunch of woodworking tools. Here in Connecticut I have a circular saw (borrowed, LOL) and a drill driver for the screws. Used the tailgate of the truck for a pair of sawhorses, and it's almost ready to go.
Still have a couple of parts to get from the frame for Jim, and into the box they go, for shipment to the "Old Country". |

So, after almost 2 months, I still have the motor and some parts in my garage. The rest of the bike has moved to it's new home for distribution among various projects, but the combined efforts of Yermaun and me have come up empty, as regards getting this box shipped. I wonder if there might be some advice from those who have experience shipping internationally (you know who you are...), to help get this thing to it's owner? |

Try the Shaker Group, Latham NY. Ask for Karl. You can tell him I sent you. Just tell him you want the cheapest thing possible.
http://www.theshakergroup.com/
I shipped a motor to Bobcat7 strapped to a pallet for $177.00. The size may be the killer. They will do dimensional weight on it. I shipped one to Austrailia also, but that didn't have a head on it.
Best

I purchase two motors on-line (E-bay) an 1100F and a 900F, both shipped complete, on a sort of pallet crate box affair via "Forward Air" Air freight. Just so we're clear, two motors, two different crates, and different times. They do a "hub to hub" kinda thing. I had to drive to Detriot to pick up the motors at the Forward Air depot out at Detroit Internation Airport. Think it was a couple hundred bucks each? That was some time ago. Might be worth a shot?

I shipped an 1100 engine to Germany from the New Jersey terminal, the buyer set
the transport but I had to deliver the crate to the shipping terminal. |

Rick, if its crated properly (and it looks like it is), Federal Express Freight will ship it. It may be more than you are willing to pay for shipping, but FedEx Freight (note the Freight part - different from the normal FedEx) will pick it up, ship it, be customs broker and deliver it. Call 800-GO-FEDEX for details and cost. |
