I'm going to Florida this weekend to pick up an RV I purchased from my inlaws. If there are any Fers nearby (or willing to make the trip) I would love to meet up. My cell # 513-254-0891. |

From memory he had to stop racing years ago because the parachutes were detatching the retinas in his eyes |

Thanks Steve! I will check that out. I was a big " Big Daddy" fan when I was a kid. Actually got pissed off when he married Shirley Muldowney lol. Thought he was "sleeping with enemy". I was just a kid. |

When you see those dragsters he built and rode in in the 1960's up close, it will blow your mind.
The driver sits in a bare seat with his legs over the bare rear end with a blown Hemi in his lap.....HUGE BALLS TO DRIVE A VEHICLE LIKE THAT AT SPEED
That comes to light when you see pictures of his famous accident where a clutch explosion blew of part of his foot that led to his rear engine dragsters that paved the way to modern top fuel cars.
There are all other drag cars from other 60's drivers there as well and tons of interesting oddities, like a kids top fuel car that some father built and actually sent his young kid down a strip in. I forget the exact age, but a real young kid. Today, that would get your kids taken away from you. When you see it, you'll know.....
Tons of old racing Hemi engines and paraphernalia as well. If you are a motorhead, you will probably be Rock hard most of the day.......
And...there is a second building filled with antique and collectable cars as well..Highly recommend if you are a motorhead, and still enjoyable if you aren't.
