SuperSport80 - is the name, a no brainer, cause it's a 1980 CB750f. Started riding a motorcycle in 2012 at age 56 ( MY Mom would NEVER let me even THINK of riding a motorcycle, Son's Mom, DITTO) Mom's gone now, son is grown, bought this motorcycle, a $500 1980 Cb750f Super Sport.(Test ride was in the snow, of course, cause Dad this is the best time of the year to buy a bike) I decided no time like the present to learn to ride, bought a 450 Nighthawk started on that, sold that bike when son gave SuperSport to me. She is still a work in progress (son found out you cannot make left turn when the kickstand is down), so Dad got the leftovers. Her name is GoGoGirl, cause compared to the 450, you can redline the tach in third in a heartbeat, and the engine braking in the same gear in phenomenal too, especially when your not ready for it. Son's comment, "damn Dad, I didn't know you could ride like that!" My thought was, "you said it was just like riding the 450 %$*@!" NOT!! Reading all your posts on this site have been a great help in the repair process, Thanks to all! Just hope the wife never finds out how much this "hobby" is REALLY costing. |

1957 is my birth year. When I signed up for the forum I asked my girl friend what name I should use and she said, "how about Hondo." I said okay, thats kind of a John Wayne thing..sounds good |

I had been away from motorcycles for a long time but about 5 years ago rebuilt the motor in my 75 xl350 (bought it new, hung onto it all these years) then started the tear-down to restore my 70 Trail 70 (my father bought new, became mine, just recently dug it back out of his scrap pile), and was getting sucked into looking at a new CB1100. But then I stopped and thought: shit, I never got one of those old CB750s that made my head spin way back when I was a kid riding the hell out of that Trail 70, so I started looking for one of those. Then, thinking some more: shit, I never got one of those old 1100s, so instead of buying a new 1100 I bought an old 1100 ....... and then I came across this incredibly awesome site........ and this is sooooooo much more fun than if I had bought a new 1100. |

My original handle was squid1230. Squid was a nickname of mine since childhood, but I was made acutely aware it has a specific meaning in the motorcycle world, and not a nice one at that.
I've since changed it to CB1234 because I lack all imagination and creativity. |

I was born and raised in the Argentine Pampas. Gauchos are the cowboys of the south hemisphere. |

Over the years my biking buddies would periodically upgrade their rides to the newest, fastest machines they'd read about in the magazines and each and every Spring would see me with the same ol' F. They would teasingly say that I was an "1100F'er for life". And they were right. |
