My actual nick name was Rex when I was younger. When I found this site I had consumed to much Scotch that night of sign up, very excited and accidently put my nickname in as Rexe.

I am now mated for life to Abigail. She started out imprinting on our dog but with him no longer with us she hangs out with me. Loves car rides, sunsets at the lake, long swims toether, haven't put her on a bike yet.
Actually it's more complicated since I think Abigail is an Albert which makes for an interesting relationship. |

Reading some of the back pages I came to the sad realization that many have stopped posting.

My first street bike was a used 1975 Honda CB400 Four, purchased from the original owner in 1980 or so. Great bike, great ergos, never let me down, simple to work on and inexpensive to run. Fantastic high school and college ride. I still have it, but there were a few years when I had it under a tarp because I didn't have a garage and the New England seasons took their toll; I'd like to restore it. |

Something like 28 years back I was using these 27MHz radios for communication, basically the same that truckers use. My friend Simo P. came up with this name metu. I later added year of birth to it as some website required to have also numbers in user name.

Not to hard to work out, I have 3 CBs & my name is Phil. I use this user name everywhere including the VTR owners forum, they were real happy w/that, especially after I started 'ruining' the VTR & the Irish Classic Mini owners forum |

back when I was a wee lad (ok, maybe not to terribly long about, probably about 15 years) I was at a youth camp and having the last name flynn, a lot of the other kids call me huckfinn/huckleberryflynn...stuff like that. I made my first email address a week later and have been using this exact user name on every forum I ever join since then. the 731 part is nonsense added by the first forum because huck was already taken.
needless to say, when I go to car or motorcycle events people don't say "hey scott, hows it goin" it's always "sup huck?" hell, even my vw mechanic knows me by huck, he has no clue who I am if I say scott, lol. |

Not so new but.....When I joined the forum the only bike I had was my 1100f. I tried to use 1100fruss which is my ebay handle but someone else had used it first. Of course Russ is my first name. Dont know if he is still around but rustickle, the "Russell the love muscle" thing is about the only rhyme kids can come up with I guess lol. I've heard it all my life too. But my favorite is "Dangerruss". |

I don't remember how many years ago AOL became cheap enough that me and the wife could afford internet service.I was so bad on computers that when they asked me to put in a user name I had no idea what they were talking about.
They then asked if I would like them to suggest one and they came up with Gham, short for George Hammond.Yes,I am that boring....I have never changed it. |

My user name indicates my past profession. I used to work as a driver guide in Iceland for almost ten years. I drove those heavily modofied trucks with 38"-46" tires, did tours everday, nomatter the weather conditions. At last I got fed up with the job and in order to save my passengers from misery, I decided to quit, and change profession.
I still like meeting people, but only on it I choose so myself. |

I have no idea where it came from but even in my early racing days people just started to call me Captain. Perhaps because they thought was always planning something or making the decisions, I'm really not sure.
