Saddened by this news. Larry is one of the true characters on CB-F and wouldn't be the same without him. Please pull through brother. |

I spoke to Chris about an hour ago and she said that they got a slight gag reflex when they put a tube in Larry's throat. His eyes also showed slight reaction to light, so both are improvements. It's still going to be a miracle if he gets through this, but this is encouraging news.
Chris really appreciates all the kind words that everyone has said. Considering what she's been through since Thursday when this happened, she has a positive and hopeful attitude. |

I don't normally comment on things like this, but in this case it's important that I do.
Larry has been a stand -up guy and I respect him and are saddened that this is occurring. He is someone that I only wish the best for and truly hope that he can overcome this and return to his world.

Today's update from Chris is not very encouraging. Larry isn't showing any gag reflex again and virtually no pupil dilation when exposed to light. I admire her hope, because she hasn't given up faith. She continues to pray for his greater good and hopes that things turn around. In an effort to motivate Larry to wake up, she put a throttle grip in his right hand!
It sounds like they'll keep watching him over the next couple of days and if there's no improvement by Wednesday or Thursday, they'll do some final testing before asking her to make a difficult decision.
The outpouring from all the guys here and on the CBX forum is overwhelming and speaks volumes about Larry. He is a man rich in friendships. What more can a person ask for?

One of my Friends 5 years ago was hit while riding, no helmet, and had multiple skull fractures and brain stem injury, similar diagnosis. He stayed that way for two weeks and then started to wake up. He is recovered and now doing well.
So I hope that Larry can pull through also.
Thoughts and prayers sent!

any sign + is good obviously but it might take years.

signs may come and go but never give up hope and

That is very encouraging. I hope Larry can have a similar turnaround as your friend.
I don't think Larry has much in the way of health insurance. Should I set up a GoFundMe account that would go to Larry's wife? |

Hello Tom,
I don't know Larry or had any dealings with him on the site. I do know, however, that this site has been a great source of help and inspiration for me. The site is what it is due to the combined input of everyone who is a participant. So, if someone on this site needs some help, I am willing to chip in.
I think you should start the account. |
