When it comes to collecting alll the valaubles in sight, the only thing you need is more space; litterally and emotionally.
Motorheads are simple people, they only want more of the good things.

That said, I find it hard to convince my darling that a "new" bike every winter is necessary to fight winter depression.

All the best from the (next to) arctic circle

It's a very long and dark winter in Iceland, so naturally a new bike every fall would certainly be a good prescription for "cabin fever"....very good idea to present to the Mrs.

Guide, where are you located in Iceland? I'm coming to Reykjavik to celebrate New Years. Where's the best place to see fireworks and post festivities?

.
More is better - it should be MORE Bikes Syndrome so that whatever you have, you want more.

Some of my bikes, but not all:

Image

There are many bikes not shown because I got tired of taking them out (and putting them back in) the garage; and - I want MORE!

I just bought a '71 Honda CL175 and a '79 CT70. Got my eye on a '71 SL175. My project list seems infinite...

I keep my garage under control so I don't have to move bikes too often.

If I could find cheap storage the caravan I could fit more bikes. My car has never been in the garage

That sounds like a good and reasonable plan Brian. Don't forget your long underwear.

One of the best places to get a good overlook of the fireworks is at the top of Oskjuhlid a small in Reykjavik. You just ask for directions to the "pearl" which is a restaurant on top of that hill. Most of the local bars in town are along the "Laugavegur" street as well as in the middle of the town; the city center.

I live across the bay from Reykjavik and can overlook the whole city from there, but for getting the best "bang for the buck" it´s best to be closer to the crowd.

Enjoy your visit in Iceland

Hmmmm well here's the definition of "problem":

a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome.

Considering this, our bikes are certainly not "unwelcome" since they provide tremendous joy and happiness with the occasional bit of frustration thrown in the mix for balance. They certainly aren't harmful unless ridden without due respect and care. Therefore, there's nothing that needs to be dealt with or overcome except finding just the right next one to put in the garage. IMHO.....

+1

I find its easier to stick with this if, when you finish a new one, you take the old one that was running apart ... plus then make every rebuild a 7 or 8 year project, then you can be a genuine "one bike man", but also have as many bikes around you as you want, without guilt, as they are "projects" ... (it says here ...!)

Regards,

Max

P.S. If that sounded in anyway convincing, please let me know, so that I can practice saying it when herself gets stroppy ...!

Sounds perfect MAX...."Projects"....or "Running projects", since we're never really ever quite finished with them even when they are perfect.....

One bike is better than none in any ones book any day of the week.

Your welcome to come over to my place and have a beer if you want a bit of space. I don't live on a big block of land but I have a garage with a fridge and some bikes.

Have a good one
Scott

I just might take you up on that next year Smile It's a bit of a trek. haha.
