Does anyone know the cylinder bore measurement for a standard 1100 piston. And what tool is necessary to measure a cylinder bore?
I have a lead on some 1100cylinder jugs but want to make sure they have not been already been bored to 1123. Thankyou |

STD OEM bore for an 1100 (actually 1062) is 70mm. An 1123 bore is 72mm bore.

As a follow up, the man with the engine will have to pull the cylinder head to get a measurement on the piston size for me. Barring that I buy the whole engine and have it shipped, I think pulling the head would not take that long? As I am only interested in the jugs and rods, I am wondering if the jugs always are a pain to get out?
Has anyone ever been able to just pull the jugs with relative ease and not have to make a jig to pull them?
This engine was possibly track raced as the frame was braced and a few other things. The owner is making a guess that it was. Said there was a ticking in the engine but it still ran so he swapped it out. If I buy the whole engine and take a chance, there may be some goodies in there.
Can some of you guys who know your stuff tell me if I should pass on this? He might take a couple hundred bucks |

200-300 bucks is a good deal on an 11 motor. The cylinders themselves are worth that. If the cams are in spec they are worth that. If the sleeves are bored to 72mm you can resleeve it back to stock. Costs a little bit but it can be done with readily available (wiseco, but made by LA Sleeve?) parts. Especially if you are going to get to look at the interior of the engine thats a good deal! If you don't buy it tell him I will lol. |

Buy the engine, do not think twice . You could have a free set of racing cams or oversize valves, high compression piston who knows. Spare the seller the pain and ask for a good price in return |
