Is anyone familiar with, or know anything about the exhaust system in the above link? I've never heard of it or seen one.
Mizuno motors xess? Says it fits all the f's?
If you have any info, please share. I like the look of it.

Good price but what is shipping? There was a thread a while back, I think about a year ago, where some guy in the US was making Yoshimura clone exhausts. They looked just like this one, which looks like the Yoshi..
Maybe someone here will recall what I'm talking about. I'll start looking too. |

Buy three and shipping is free. Not a bad looking exhaust but how does it sound?
Webike has a similar one on eBay with $84 shipping and a $350 price tag. |

Aye, that looks nice.
Imho modern style pipes don't look 'right' on our F's. |

What the heck, I just ordered one. I've spent $300 much dumber than this. We'll see if I ever get one, or if it fits.
I just hate the look and sound of the chrome V&H I have right now, plus I wanted to weld in an O2 sensor bung. This could be the perfect creature for customization. If I like it, after I'm done modifying it, I can always get it coated.

At that price JT, it had better be the complete exhaust system.
498.73 USD for a muffler, or 241.86 USD for a complete system? Nah, can't see it.
I know I'm a Scot, so 'careful' with money but double??? |

I think the 'cheaper' version that does not sweep up looks much better. I think that if you look at the lines of the cooling fins on the engine, the decal stripe on the side panel and the seat, the lower version is consistent with that line. The swept up version does not appear to match any other line on the bike and to me presents a visual dissonance. |

I wonder if the pipe you speak of is this one:
http://www.cb750cafe.com/products-page/exhaust/4-into-1-exhaust-dohc/
He made them from mild steel..but also did a stainless version for the SOHC Honda fours.
The pipes shown above are interesting but I'd be asking if the "Up Swept" unit will fit on the taller motors of the 900 and 1100 cc size before ordering one for those installs. The "up swept" Spencer version appears to tuck very close to the chassis which may not lend itself to being installed to the 900 and 1100 motors. They do not mention these larger F motors in their sales info.

I know there was a thread about Mike Velasco making a run of pipes (found it searching) but can't find a thread where he actually made them and sold them. I am almost sure he did (cause I almost bought one) and there was a thread but I can't find it. |

If/when it shows up I'll post a couple pics and thoughts on the build quality and construction.

looking at their catalog I was trying to find one for
my Wife's CB550/592 project. all I could find was
one for a CB650 but looks like it would fit. problem
is they want 45000 yen ($374) for it ! looks like the same construction and design !?
I wonder what our
national debt would look like in yen !!! ! |

Well I received the exhaust today. Pretty amazing how fast it came.
Frankly, I was expecting some pretty low build quality for the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've posted a few pictures.
All the welds appear very nice and consistent, which is nice sign. The flanges that bolt the collector to the head are nice and stout. The contact point that touches the head is machined, not just some saw cut pipe. The bends in the head pipes are very nice and sweeping, no kinks, etc. The collector appears to be pretty nice as well. Metal thickness measures right around .045".
The only things that looked low quality were the finish, which appear to be standard el cheapo high temp paint. I was expecting this and am ok with it. After I have it modified I'll likely have it ceramic coated.
The other cheap appearing item is that the baffle appears to be sealed and held in place with bead of caulk or adhesive. I was likely going to make a slight different baffle anyway as this one is 1 1/8" id, so I'll make something a little better than caulk. Again, not a big deal.
As for seeing if it fits, that may have to wait a bit. It was 2 degrees this morning, so the garage is too cold work in. Hopefully the fit is decent.
if the fit is decent, I'll weld in an o2 bung for tuning, and maybe some ports for EGT sensors.
I wont' know how it sounds until spring.

Brett, thanks for the initial feedback.
Can you tell yet if there is oil filter and drain plug access? |

I don't know yet, but from looking at it and going off memory I would be surprised if the oil filter is easy to get at. It doesn't appear to be shifted to one side to allow access. But this is from memory. Maybe this weekend I'll battle the cold and bolt it in place.
I'd also be shocked if the center stand could stay......

Free shipping would have been nice, but I was too anxious to miss out! Someone's gotta go first.
When you guys get yours running, post a video clip so we can hear it. I might mount mine, but I'm not waking my bike up until spring.
Is anyone going to make the 1 3/4" Id race baffle like the real yosh type r instead of the 1 1/8 that's on it? If you are, let me know.
