Got the trimmer out, trimmed the grass, then ran the mower over it. Had to replace a sprinkler I hit with the mower (dumbass...), sprinklers are running right now, then comes the first fertilizer of the season. Riding weather is coming. boys!

Go ahead and rub it in, Rick. Evil or Very Mad

Meanwhile, there's still snow on the ground and it's in the low 30's here. Hopefully in a couple of weeks it will be warm enough to take a bike out of hibernation.

I think he is referring to the vernal equinox. Just looked out the window and saw nothing but white and the 10 day forecast is for more snow and cold.

Ya and if I lived in the Sahara where it must be spring I'd enjoy it. 50s today and then 20s and 30s for the next week.

Way too much snow here, and 2-week forecast isn't good. No riding for me until mid-April at best, probably later. Now to rub it in a bit - heading to Miami tomorrow & getting on the Celebrity Reflection for 7-days of Caribbean sunshine and warmth. Laughing

Low 40's high 30's for a few days then a warmup. After a 60 degree day tomorrow...... welcome to southern Ohio! I have had the bikes out a couple times though. Come on mother nature, stop being such a bitch. Confused

Got in a 100 mile ride today on the W650, testing out some new tires. Suppposed to be nice tomorrow too -- demo'ing a new Yamaha FZ-09 and the new FJR13. I am so ready for spring!

You guys need to move down under if you want to ride 365. Though having such pronounced seasons as you do in the northern regions it must be very pleasurable to experience that moment when you don the gear and hit the starter .

Still too damn cold here and then we are getting into a bloody awful pot hole season. I am not anticipating much for this year.

On an "unrelated to spring" note -- both the FZ09 and the FJR1300 were pretty damn impressive. I was surprised how smooth the triple was and how much power it had. The FJR is one fine looking bike in candy apple red, and the transmission was extremely smooth. Tons of torque, too! I'd be happy with either one.

So, I started this thread, you see, and then came home to visit Mom and Dad (Central Maine), you see...

Karma's a bitch, you see...

Spent yesterday chopping ice out of the driveway, and wake up to about 6" of heavy wet snow this AM, so I've been shoveling like a madman, trying to clean things up (again).

Just spoke to the wife back home in Abq, beautiful day there, shitty day here:

Wow. That is much more that we have even up here. In January we could see our lawn due to no snow and very warm temps for January. February brought a 3' snowstorm but we haven't had any since. While we can still get more snow, I am hoping for the best and getting some riding in in April. Saw 6 bikes out on the roads yesterday. Still too cold and too much gravel on the roads for me though.

We are getting somewhere as I see patches of lawn poking through again. Very Happy

Dave

Stole a friends bike since it was at the shop................................

Funny side note, I called first to make sure he would be alright with it and he insisted that in the future I just take it, because he was depressed that he was at work on such a nice day.

The goose is drooling, the lake here is still ice bound (but should be breaking up any day now). Maybe we can hit a water temp of 50F by Memorial Day - just like swimming in Maine in the summer. Very Happy

First swim of the year, today. Pool thermometer said 62 deg.

There's them that would say "That boy just ain't right..."

I dug the 1100F out of the shop this morning and fired her up. Then I took a ride out to look at a '73 DOHC 450 for my son. The bike was a piece of junk but the 1100F ran beautifully. I put around 70 miles on it through some small towns and nice country roads.
