What a lucky day! I get an email this morning from a well known Honda vendor in Europe notifying me a part I had inquired about in 2010 - - - over 3 years ago was now in stock and they are holding it for me and would I still want it,, still want it ? ? ? HELL YES I still want it !

The Honda P/N 11631-MA3-000 . .

I'm off to buy some Powerball tickets,,, never in a million years would I think this part would ever become available ever again

Some Honda parts vendors have wish lists,, I highly recommend signing up for an account and putting any obsolete unobtanium parts on your wish list,, In this case, it worked for me

Sorry mate. Already have RB and RC nos ones. On the lookout for an RD one now to replace the couple of nos RD ones I sold a few years ago.

Senility gets the better of me, I have NOS RC and RD alternator covers. The RB one is the only one with little fins. RD cover is the one in a deeply attractive gold.

The colors vary a lot. I have both an Rc and and Rd NOS cover and the Rd cover is not as deeply rich in color as yours. It differs from the Rc cover , yet I would call it closer to the Rc color shown as the Rd.
If I would see the cover just by itself, I would think it is for an Rc. I can't tell from the pictures, but are your Rd point cover and alt cover the same color exactly?

No, the RD ign cover is NOS but sat on a shelf out of packaging for what must have been a long time. the other RD cover I had was the same deep gold colour.

The price cms shows was Euro 218.50, which is approx $295.00. Add 20 Euro for shipping to the U.S. and you have approx $320.- for a NOS Rb cover. Not a bad deal, considering what people want for beat-up, used parts.

Sorry, Larry, I am a terrible liar, I admit it! Razz Razz How could I dare to use 1.35 as an exchange rate, when it is actually 1.38??? I hope the community forgives me.

You could post a copy of the "original" invoice...... Rolling Eyes

But even if you paid $360.00 it is an awesome deal for an NOS alt cover, when you consider what people ask for beat-up used ones, isn't it???

What's your point Rob? Larry got a reasonable deal on an alt cover - maybe 20-25% off retail.
Does that mean he should not try to get market value for his used one?

Have you guys transitioned to some sort of socialist collective market?

Some of my NOS parts I paid full retail, some I got a smoking deal on. That does not mean that I will be giving the cheap stuff away if I decide to part with it. Aside from the delivered price I put too much time and effort in to even consider that path.
