That will only be supplied for the american market - sort of like the oddball pegs and handle bars you guys got on the 900's.
The CB1100 won't sell here - one local dealer has had 2 in stock for more than 2 years and can not sell them at any money. |

Cool bike, but if I had a choice between having a nice CBX and a nice 1100F for the same price, (or less) I would opt for the two oldies. |

I like it,
$10,000 though?
Course I haven't priced a bike in a while. |

I can't put my finger on it but the styling leaves me empty. Don't think it will sell in the US, just like the '94-'95 CB1000f "Big One." |

I like the retro styling, although the oil cooler doesn't quite look right. Other manufacturers have retro models, so why not Honda? For $10K, I'm not running out the door to get one, even if this is a "low" priced bike. 10K to me if 1/2 of home down payment. |

Whether your into it or not, that thing to me screams Cafe racer. Its nothing more than a set of bars and seat/bobbed fender away.
I wonder how it handles? |

Ummmm....
I'll wait until the CB1300 is available in the U.S.
Or maybe I'll have to "import" one from the U.K. |

Everything has a price and if the price is too high it won't sell. I'll bet he wants a lot more than the 10 grand |

Yep,
If the price was around 7000, it would be in my garage tomorrow. Holy crap, how much do they need to make off the damn things. |

Looks like Honda is concentrating on making cheap bikes to a low price point now.
Looks as if it was designed to get new buyers into the game.
-A basic twenty first century UJM.....
-Not many "tasty morsel" parts on that thing.
-I don't think that bike appeals to enthusiasts.....
But Kawasaki hit all the right buttons with their ZRX and that didn't sell well either

i suspect the Kwak sales will definitly out shine that Honda..ugg..what a disapointment..
At least they didnt give it a "F" designation though..
I think they really made a big mistake when they didnt make this one..

That bike is pretty ..All the super-bike era trick parts are there....But could you buy a bike like that with less than 130 hp?
That air cooled engine hardly looks like a powerhouse. Isn't the new 1100 like 85 hp?
It would be embarrassing to ride a beautiful bike like that, and get smoked by guys on adventure bikes with more HP. |

To me the styling is a cross between a single cam and a twin cam custom…..sad! |

Is it crazy to modify a brand new bike? The spec sheet does not impress me..
Engine: 1140cc air- and oil-cooled
Bore x Stroke: 73.5mm x 67.2mm
Compression Ratio: 9.5:1
Curb Weight: 540pounds
Wheelbase: 58.7 in.
41mm fork with spring preload
Dual shocks with spring preload
Tires: F - 110/80-18 R - 140/70-18
Various internet sites have a few reviews.
Motorcycle . com says, "..rather modest horsepower 85.3 at 7500 revs. Its max feels like about 75 rear-wheel horses..."
Cycle World says, "..Power builds in a progressive, step-free manner all the way up to the 8500-rpm redline.."
8500 RPM redline ???? Butt dyno of 75hp to manufacture rating of 85.3hp, out of a new 1140cc fuel injected engine ?????? That is NOT impressive... I am curious of the cam specs, ignition advance timing, ECU control system..
Maybe this bike has potential? Swap to sportbike suspension, (USD forks & piggyback shocks), performance exhaust, Power Commander ECU, Etc... And finally, for me, replace the stock bodywork and tank with our DOHC CB-F tank/body.
I hope to see and sit on this bike when the International Bike Show rolls into town.
P.S. For shits & giggles, can someone with skills, photoshop our CB-F body onto this new bike?? |

This is a novelty. It is fat @ 540 pounds and grossly under powered, and overpriced. Just my opinion. |

Point taken.....
This could be the perfect competition for the Bonneville.....but it is $1600 too expensive....
We will see year old models on the showroom floor for cut rate......
And 30 years from now our children will score a CB1100 school bike motor for almost the
cost of the original bike....
I personally like it.....but like Mel said....it needs shocks, cams and a pipe.....
I think one could coax 15 horsepower out of it easy.
That would put it with the original performance wise....

Stick our body work on it and you would be surprised how close it is.....
Box swingarm
Twin shock
Standard fork (although no TRAC)
Litre motor
5 speed
Similar tire size
Cast aluminum rims
Lattice footpeg brackets
Air cooled
Oil Cooler
Am I wrong? The immortal 1100F is pretty standard when viewed through this lens.
Looks aside.....I bet it rides very well.....

Perhaps through your perscription,.
To me, "F" bikes are race ready machines, the new one defintatly does not have any racing blood in it at all..
More of a geriatric version, if you insist.. |

A decent retro bike, but the only advantage I see over my 1100F is fuel injection. IMHO, the perfect buyer for this bike will be:
1) Someone who's ready to move up to a bigger bike and likes the retro look.
2) Someone who's unable to restore/maintain one of our F's.
3) Someone who has never owned an '83 1100F and therefore will not know what they're missing.
All that being said, if the price was a couple grand lower, you could do some really nice upgrades to it and get it up to the HP range of the 1100F. I still like the bodywork and paint scheme better on our beauties. |
