Not yet as they are making them and supplying them with all the bolts and spacers etc in steel, I am changing them all out for Titanium and once I have done that I will give you an exact figure.
Failing that, do you just want what Dymag say they are?

Thought Dymag went OUT of business.
Did someone perhaps provide a Ca$h infusion to keep them going??
Would you be kind enough to provide details and a contact as there's a chance others might like to have alternate wheels as well.
Kind regards

Righty Ho, no problem sir, as my experience so far has been brilliant, questions answered, details, price etc,
Dymag are up and running again with new owners, money etc and are back in the market and doing a very good job IMO.
They are now owned by PDQ Motorcycle Developments

Ricardo,
My Blackbird sports Dymag Alum. alloy "Ultra Pro 7's" this year. Larry at PDQ was great to work with on there purchase. They were truly a "bolt on" item. Only thing I changed was the rear wheel alloy Talon sprocket out for a Super Sprox unit. As my intended use is street sport touring in nature I wanted a steel tooth set to run against the chain. Note: the Super Sprox has a alloy carrier to mate up with the rear wheel cush drive,..so that remains alloy to alloy in a sense. The Ultra Pro 7's were also on sale. As my wheels are Alum. alloy there is not the weight savings as the magnesium, but there is some weight savings to be had. Great product, great service, delivered on time.

It would be cool to know what they weigh as advertized .... I think my forged aluminum wheels were "approx" 7lbs front (17 x 3.5) and *edit* 13.4lbs rear (17 x 5.5) |

Although not directly related to the F bikes, here is some info I gathered during my CBR wheel change out program to Dymags. Note these are fordge Alum. Ultra Pro 7's as compared to the stock CBR-1100xx wheel set. There is also width increase with the rear Dymag to 6.0" as compared to the stock 5.5" rear wheel width.
(Copy and paste from the Blackbird site starts here:)
Dymag Ultra Pro 7 wheels as compared to stock: Weights
Dymag Front: Bare wheel / no rotors: 7.4lbs With brake rotors: 16.8lbs (1999 spec stock front brake rotors)
Dymag Rear Bare wheel / with Talon alloy sprocket/ no rotors: 16.4lbs With stock brake rotor/SuperSprox compostie steel-n-alloy sprocket: 18.8lbs
Stock Wheels: (I do not have bare stock wheel set weights to offer up at this time)
Stock Front: n/a
Stock Rear: n/a
With tires:
Dymag Front; With spacers/ Michelin Pilot Power 2CT: 120 x70 x 17/ 1999 model year brake rotors: 25.2 lbs
Dymag Rear: With spacers/ Michelin Pilot Power 2CT 190 x 50 x 17/ SuperSprox sprocket/ stock rear brake rotor: 32.2 lbs
Stock wheels sets: Includes Tires, spacers, sprocket, brake rotors as stock for a 1998 1100xx.
Stock Front: Pilot Power 2CT 120 x 70 x 17 : 27 lbs
Stock Rear: Pilot Power 2CT180 x 55 x 17: 38.4 lbs.
Wheel sizes:
Stock:17 x 3.5 front. Three spoke
Dymag: 17 x 3.5 front Seven spoke
Stock: 17 x 5.5 rear.Three spoke.
Dymag: 17 x 6.0 rear Seven spoke.
Note: weights are subject to error, plus/minus, given that the bathroom scale was in use here. I have no idea of what the error might be in the scale.
FWIW,
Tony
(ends here)
They also make a Reduced weights Ultra Pro 7 that comes at a higher cost...those wheel sets were not on the "sale" list. These wheels are currently not going to be offered in the magnesium make-up either, as they once had been.

Reduced weight from the suspension down is generally a good thing too, irrespective of the total weight savings. I'm sure the titanium parts make an improvement too. I guess boring them is a bit over the top... |

Just received notification that my wheels are finished and have been shipped. I was told it was 12 weeks but they have done them in 7 so thats just fantastic, further is that they are shipping from the UK to NZ via UPS (expensive) so I have nothing but good things to say about Dymag.
As soon as I receive them I'll post facts and figures on weights compared to the wheels we presently run. Should be interesting.

Had my wheels for a few days now and have just finished mounting tyres and rotors etc. Really nice rims, perfect fit and very period look.
Looks like its going to be about a 6kg (13.2lb) weight reduction and more to come when I modify the front rotors. By the time I have done this and convert all the cush drive fasteners and drive sprocket studs and lock nuts to Titanium I should get the savings up to 7-8 kg (15.4-17.6lbs)
Happy with that...................

That is a crap load of weight, even if it were static, which it isnt! So you must have a goal of at least one second a lap, maybe more? How many laps are your races generally? Nothing like reliable performance mods! |

Ah, you don't want those junk wheels Captain. I have a really nice set of stockers for you. Don't worry about shipping. I will pay both ways.
NICE stuff you got there. I can only dream. |

Don't know about a second a lap but it will help us go faster that's for sure. Our normal race distance is about 8 laps.

I assume that you are meaning the extra 2 hex headed bolts in the rotor. If you are, then the reason that they are there is to activate the speed sensor as the others are titanium and are non magnetic. Somewhere in my previous postings there is a picture of the rear caliper and mount that shows the sensor fitted to it. Easy to miss it though as it is tucked away behind the swing arm and is black.
Back to the rotor again though, I am going to remove the 2 curved "fingers" that are between each mounting bolt. They are not nesessary for the loads seen on the rotor. I am also going to do the same to the front rotors.

ouhh , sorry , yes, i had missed the speed sensor . I must have think that there's a good reason for the 2 different bolts !
anyway , thanks for the pics , what a bike !!
No temptation to go in Europe for some racing (Bol d Or Classic , 4 hours of SPA) ? |
