"Hey, what year is that!?" "I had one of those!" "That's in great shape!" "Where did you find that!?" What a blast! This is coming from guys much younger than me. I think it blows them away to see a grey hair on an F. Of course all they can see is the grey moustache but you get the idea. Cliff. |

I get those sorts of comments too (not about the grey mustaches though - lol). Last year a guy came up to me at a Gas Station and said man that is the best looking bike I've seen all year. He was in his twenties. I went to a local bike gathering and the whole goup gathered around my bike when I pulled in. Lasted 5 minutes until a highly modded Hyabusa rolled up. I was right there with them looking at that bad-ass machine too.
I think we see an appreciation for all kinds of motorcycle tastes among all generations but it is really cool to see that sort of recognition of these bikes from the younger crowd. Shows they are paying attention to the culture and history.

Ha! You young guys! An 1980's bike is "old school muscle"! Or maybe I'm just older than most of you and my old school muscle is a Vincent, a Triumph Bonneville or a 1969 SOHC sandcast. I really am showing my age! Cliff. |

Yell back
When I recently had my Honda CB 750F 1980 at a car workshop, there was a lot of people looking at my motorcycle.
Some thinked it,s was a new bike or almost new
They said - this is what a real motorcyckle bike should look like.
Oh, I said, the bike is 32 years old...
But hope to get it in better condition every year I own it. |

Every twenty something that comes over wants to buy it.....
Of course it gets passed over easily by its stablemates.....but it still draws attention.
