Another 1100F Reborn

So I've been lurking here for about 8 months as I've restored a new to me 1100. I've been inspired by so many wonderful rebuilds and wanted to show you all what I've been doing.

I'd been wanting to once again have an 'F' as back in '83 I actually owned a 1981 CB900F2 Boldor....... Correct, an Australian model. (my homeland) I loved that bike.

Anyway, I found this '83, a non runner but almost fully stock. There was no plans to leave it that way for long! I'll show you what I have then give a little more information.

No, this isn't the first bike I've done. I've had salvage bikes, new bikes, old bikes and junk bikes. There's been dirt bikes along the way, adventure bikes, sport bikes, touring bikes, you name it I've probably played around with one. The current stable is an '07 Aprilia Tuono, '05 KTM 525 and a WR250R. (can't afford anymore for now)

What do you see, the parts list:
-Mid 90's ZX9 forks (anodized, painted and a few bosses ground off)
-ZX9 lower triple clamp
-Honda F3 front wheel
-Honda CBR900RR front rotors
-GSXR early 2000's 6 piston Calipers
-Custom upper triple clamp and bar clamps
-Ducati Monster fender, shortened, trimmed and new mounts made to give it a retro look
-Ducati 999 headlights
-Totally custom fabricated instruments and number plate (carbon fiber)
-F2 Coils
-Corbin Seat
-Late 90' CBR900RR rear wheel, caliper and swing arm. (fabricated mounts for twin shocks)
-Custom foot pegs, gear lever and brake lever
-Ohlins shocks
-Custom side stand
-Many many other various custom made goodies!!!!!!!

Managed to touch up the original paint freshening it up with a new clear coat finish.

Wow. That's awesome, nicely done indeed. I like how you made your own footpeg/controls on the stock 11F footplates.. And that front end, I know how much work it was to match wheel bearing sizes to the ZX9 axle & the stem to the triple clamps..

But you've got to let that motor's exhaust flow by removing the crappy choked down MAC muffler baffle and replace it with at least a 2" straight thru perforated core baffle.. Wink

You will know what I am talking about when you take the baffle out..

Thanks milchiro. There's been a bunch of bushings, spacers, brackets and such to fabricate, but I love that stuff. It's been fun working out what'll work best and more importantly how it can all function as one unit.

As yes, you are correct, the MAC muffler is crap. A custom can's next on the to do list. Are these projects ever finished!!!!!!!!!!

F'n AWESOME. I LOVE your front fender!!!!!!!!!! Oh ya and its the faster color, got to love that.

Who made the upper clamp? Would they make more?

One last one says it all....... why we love our F's.

Learnt a lot on this project, it's not quite finished, far from a perfect build but can't wait for a 5 day ride coming up this following week.

Peter, that is one of the Cool

est F bikes I have seen, right up there with Petrat's work of art that is on the homepage. All of us that attended this weekend's N.E. ride got to see and hear that beauty first hand.
Both bikes are a freakin 'work of art'. Well done, and I hope to see your bike up close sometime.
