Hi Guys,
Long time, no posts. Sorry bout that. Still racing, still have my bikes( maybe four or five more) but.
In May I will be coming over to LA. and driving up to Miller park raceway, for the World superbike races.
We will be doing the usual tourist stuff. like Vegas. the crack in the ground (grand canyon) and Bonniville salt flats. can you guys give me some ideas of good bike places or musuems we should visit on the trip. my brother is coming with me and is a bike nut as well.
Looking forward to getting involved with this forum again and would especially like to meet any forum members over in the US if possible.
Regards
Ken C

Sounds like you planned a great vacation. I hope the racing and weather is good for you.

Yosemite National Park! You can go to Vegas then Bonneville then Yosemite from the the Nevada side (dress warmly the pass is like 9,000 feet.) Then go down into the valley where you can see El Captian. San Francisco is nice but it will eat up gobs of time due to traffic. Better to blast down the slab to San Jose and then down to Monterey / and Carmel by the sea. Then go down the Pacific coast highway into Big Sur and stop at Nepenthe's http://www.nepenthebigsur.com/ two years ago when I was in Monterey during the USGP this place was full of vintage cafe racers from all over the west coast. On Saturday night the have close the entire cannery row area of Monterey for a bike night. Melchiro and Strechedsteel couldn't even get their F and X bikes down there.

Be sure to hit the Hoover dam just outside Vegas on your way to the grand canyon. Zion national park and death valley are also outside Vegas.

+1 - I'd have to say I found the Grand Canyon very "disappointing" after doing the above (and Yosemite NP) first - not worth the investment in miles for me anyway

I must admit,
We are looking for the little out of the way musuems and local bike attractions. we would rather look at old bikes and racing history, than natural wonders.
We are also timing our trip to be back at the pomona swap meeting in So Cal 3rd - 4th June for some scavenging and look at the local parts scene. while I race moderns and 2 strokes, my brother has indians and a Benelli's. So we are really keen to get to see the US bike scene.
So thanks for the suggestions guys and keep em coming.
Regards
Ken C

Bump,
Hi Guys,
We made it, my brother and I are sitting in the hotel at Las Vegas, What a great trip so far. When we went to pick up our rental Toyota Corolla, The lady at the service counter said she would upgrade us and we would love her. Well she did and she was right. We are running around in bright orange Dodge Challenger R/T. Man welcome to left hand drive and being inconspicuous.

Are there any F ers going up to the races at Utah this comming weekend, would be great to catch up and have a few drinks with some of you guys.
Regards
Ken

Just remember The U.S. Like Ozzland is a big place with great distances between the sights mentioned.

( i've know of a few Eurpeans, that figured a cross country trek might take a day)
