After 30 years and who knows how many kilometers it is time to give an old lady health treatment.
We disassembeld engine 1 month ago and started slowly to order parts
In the meantime we played some polishing games
General idea is to repaint the engine and body work to look something like this
Finally I build up needed parts
Soon to be continued... |

Things look great so far. |

Small update.
Using our fellow member "Sergio3d" method for cleaning rusty tank:
http://www.cb1100f.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=61314&highlight=
I forgot to take picture of the tank in the beguinig, this is tank after 2 days
I did pritty nice job. It took me 4 days to clean the tank.
I used to clean inox plate 2 times a day with metal brush. And each time I got less rust on it.
Theoretically if you change inox plate long enough you would end up with clean plate and no rust in tank.
I could not wait for that ofcourse and after 4 days I treated the tank with anti-rust liquid.
Result was more than satisfying
The biggest pain in the ass was drying the tank for painting. After spilling all the watter out I picked the rest with long cloth and
then dry it for 4 hours with hot air gun (paint remover from the wood)
I must mention and thank my friend Segio3d, who help me overcoming lack of patience in the crutial moments of polishing and painting
Next phase is completly cleaning the engine before assemblly and sending bodywork for painting
See you soon... |
