Well its been 12 months but my restore project CB1100F with my son has taken a big leap....we are done with the engine. Just a valve adjustment and it's ready. We rebuilt the engine from empty cases to ready to go....now the frame and electrical.....fun, fun and fun and my son is learning....heck, so am I !!!!!

Last pic is the way we got the bike...

Awesome job! You could eat off that engine. Getting to spend some quality time with you son is great too. Last winter I rebuilt an SC with my dad. I'm 40 and he's 76, but it was still a blast and yes - lots of learning.

Wow! That motor looks too nice to start up. I like the gloss black & the polished covers. I would love to do a bike build with my son, but he's not old enough to ride yet, so he probably wouldn't get the enjoyment after all the hard work.

VERY tastefully done! You should be very proud. Building memories along the way, that can't be beat. Congrats on a great job.

Very nice job! That motor looks like NOS! Nice job on the body restoration too. You should have a very nice showroom condition bike when it's all back together. Another survivor!!! beerchug

Cheers!

A lot of good work there man....and it is 2X cool having your boy involved.....
Nobody could fathom the amount of work it takes to build a classic bike til'
they actually have to do it....kudos to you for sticking with it!

Peace,
Jebby

Thanks guys...doing the work with my son is the best...he is 15 and is just starting to really get into my bikes. I will post more as we get farther into the project.

Also, nothin' like going out to get a cheeseburger after we are done for the day....

Nice indeed! Now, thank your stars you missed the exquisitely painful task of removing the cylinders from an old engine.

Wow. What great experience to have with your son. Wish my 15 year old had such an interest. The engine is awesome looking. I just made that pic my desktop wallpaper.

http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/engineenamel/

It should be available at any good auto parts store........

So you used the VHT engine enamel not the VHT case paint. I'm also a fan of VHT products.
