Instead of Honda coming our with the CB1100R that we wanted, they come out with this stupid looking bike. I didn't sit on it , but damn, did I ever think it was ugly and stupid looking. From what I have read, it sounds like it is for people who would normally ride big scooters. BTW, the seating position is not sporty, it is cruiser style.

I'm sure they are going to fly off the showroom floors.
What the hell were they thinking? |

I saw one of these on the showroom floor at a local motorcycle shop. What really cracks me up is the fact for a 680cc moorcycle with a price tag of $15K? WTH! |

Just makes our 80's vintage bikes worth that much more!
Can't imagine Honda spending that kind of money building a bike without conducting "Focus Groups" to check what people think of the new design... Makes you wonder who they hired, obviously not Sport Riders, eh?
To each his own, I suppose, but if I ever see one in person, you can bet it'll be "ho hum...just another bike" (was gonna say "Crotch Rocket", but it's not even that good).
I, too, see the price tag as outrageous.
Relates to the recently posted thread about why we keep our F bikes, there's a good reason right there! |

Honda should have marketed the CB1100R or the CB1100F which would have been a very good seller compared to the DN-01 (which incidentally someone remarked stood for Do Not Order One...lol)

I gotta agree with you - they are ugly. I looked at one at the dealer a couple of weeks back. They swear there is big interest in them. I couldn't find out who was so interested. Most of the women I talked to didn't like it, either. |

That thing is a crash waiting to happen.
The handle bars locate very far rearward from the steering stem. This means at parking lot speeds and turning the bars, the inside hand will come past center of the bike. No leverage to prevent it falling over like the guy on laugh in. |

Honda seems to have really lost their way, at least as far as the US motorcycle market is concerned. They seem to think the only things that sell here are cruisers, full-on sport bikes, and scooters. These big "automatic" bikes don't seem to be exactly taking off. The dealer in my town has a Yamaha FJR1300 with the automatic trans that has been gathering dust on the showroom floor for over a year. |

When I had my tires mounted I decided to stroll into the showroom and get I coffee while I waited. I walked past this thing and at first was like whoa....Blade Runner....thought to myself that's cool if it had say a V-Max style V-4 in it. Man was I taken down a notch.Even the sales guy that was explaining the tech to me seemed kind of ambiguous about the role this thing plays in anyones life.
I mean a $16,000 scooter is just too much for me to wrap my head around. Let's say you were the guy that this thing is suppose to target....Empty nester,60 somthin',lot's of Extenze in the medicine cabinet...would you be proud to show this thing off?
Oh yeah,I sat on it too....waayyyy to long and heavy. Good Luck on this one Honda |

When I look at thing I can't help but think of the Pontiac Aztec. This is the kind of beast that somebody loses their job over.
Then again, two people in this thread said that Damien, that's what I'm calling it, looks kinda cool. Every time I read that I curl up in the corner and sob uncontrollably. |

Im glad to see my mockups still exist!
As for the DN - i sat on one last weekend. Im becoming more and more disgruntled toward Honda. That thing is worthless.
the Fury is cool for what it is.... but cmon! We dont even get an adventure bike AND they quit making the 650R!
WTF?!
and standards! Where are our naked standards?! |
