Just spotted that they've finally released the 1982 Fast Freddie film on DVD here in the UK,
and my other half has ordered me it for christmas....
gotta be better than socks n smelly stuff !
Been ages since I had a video that played my old stretched copy,
it'll make a change from having to watch it on youtube |

You can use a free Program called DVD Shrink to make a region free Backup Copy. |

Wow
I watched that trailer - i've wondered for a little while how fast those guys go on those unfaired bikes. Fast Freddie mentioned getting close to 160 mph - that is just amazing, I cannot imagine the battering you get from the wind at that speed! |

Daz!
Did I ever tell you that you are my new best buddy in the whole UK? That's right, head and shoulders above the rest, going the extra-mile for a "Fast Freddie" (Region 1/NTSC) dvd deprived viewer such as myself. I really appreciate your righteous offering and will be truly honored to accept a freshly burned (Region 1/NTSC) version of that already historic compilation of filmed footage known simply as the "Fast Freddie" dvd.
Your friend,
NorCalSuperF
(Shoot me a P/M with the details.) |

Ok brother Fer's, soon as i have the disc i will see if i can back it up, cant see it having any protection i cant get round, discs are cheep and if i'm just backing up to disc with a plastic sleeve and then posting in a jiffy bag my costs will be minimal, i sent Fasterspider a uk classic bike mag airmail to Cal and the cost was around £5 flat rate, i will check this though as the disc will weigh much less, any UK Fer's interested will pay less for standard post, i think best thing is when i get the disc, make sure i can back it up, then cost it out at an all inclusive U.S.A price and the same for the UK, all i would need is my costs coverd and i have a paypal account for easy payment, leave it with me and i'll get back to yall.

I guess another option would be to rip it and make an avi file, then make it available on thepiratebay or isohunt.
Just a thought. |

For the record, the original DVD is PAL 'Region Free'.
Whilst a 'back-up' can be taken using DVDShrink and the region changed (although that is not necessary), it does not offer any conversion from PAL to NTSC.
I had a quick look around and whilst it can be done the time involved is (I understand) considerable.
I believe there are DVD players which will detect and play both PAL/NTSC DVD's but I have no real idea about this.
If you are outside the UK the previous post probably provides the only way of getting to watch the video. |
