The shop I brought my bike to in order to get new tires told me they could only fit tube tires on because it was too narrow a wheel. Someone suggested I use Bridgestone BT-45 tires, but they are not tube tires. What gives, is the shop just not thinking correctly or do others run aftermarket rims on their 750F? Mine is an 81. |

Find another shop.
The tire size matches the rim size, tube or tubeless.
All my "F" bikes are tubeless, one of them is a 750 chassis. Whether '80 with chrome out wheels or black side out wheels similar to 900 wheels does not matter, all of these bikes had tubeless tires. |

Glance at either of your wheels and you'll see the imprint "TUBELESS TIRE APPLICABLE"
+3, new shop. |

Thanks guys! I am going to take them to task if they argue and take the bike elsewhere. |

Yea, i work at a Honda dealer and they are clueless. Almost all the tires you would put on your bike, like Bridgestones (i personally have Pirelli's that i love) are not going to require a tube. You wheels do not require them so I would not run tubes.... that shop is bad ju-ju |

Ok, mystery solved. The service guy was looking at the wrong classic bike. There was another bike next to mine also getting tires and he got them confused. I have a set of Bridgestone S11 Spitfires on the way from the distributor so I will have the proper feet. I also got a sincere aplology from the guy, he felt bad that he scared me. Turns out the other bike belongs to a surgeon who I work with on occasion! He says they are very top notch in their work and he won't use any other shop. I will give them some slack for being human and will just double check the work real close. Thanks again for the great forum!!!! |

Ask them to tighten the spokes when they mount the tires. See what the reaction is.
Just kidding. I know they came clean with their mistake. |
