Grebnaws, it's my last name backwards. I always thought it sounded like some kind of mythical beast so I use it whenever possible. |

One boring set of a few minutes during my adolescence, I decided to see what my name looked like spelled backwards... Naginalf Kcirtap. I liked it because the dork in me thought it sounded like a wizard name. That has been my internet name ever since (well the first part anyway). Oddly enough, I have never been accused of being an Alf fan. |

I was an avid scuba diver and the family summer house is on Manomet Point on Cape Cod Bay so my boat was named "Pointdiver". Also my handle on the fishing and diving forums. It just stuck.

sobernclean......doesnt take a genius to figure it out. This is actually the first forum I have reall taken any part in other than readin. Just pulled it out of my head while I was signin up. I usually keep my recovery to myself but I figured here it doesnt really matter who knows!
Nicknames in the past have been.....Flounder while I was in high school, cuz they said I drank like a fish hahahah
Snail was handed to me the short while I lived in Rhode Island because they said I was very docile and when I got liquored up I would come out of my shell. The name evolved to both me and my car at the time, an old 1983 Volvo wagon. I lived in that car for months on end going from show to show to show....It wasnt pretty or fast but it was full of goodies and other than a busted exhaust I fixed with JBWeld the thing never gave a bit of trouble. Just add oil gas and hippie chicks
Most recently among certain circles I am known as Panther, at about a year sober went through the Cherokee Tribes (no I am not native but used to be a big dirty hippie) rights of passage into manhood. The old Shaman warrior all knowing silent dude gave me the name Panther after one of the longest weekends of my life.

My Family always paid the price when I put my first 1100 back together because of all the time I was away.So I used the first Letter of each childs name. William,Alexandra,Matt,Kylee,Annmarie(wife) and Phil(myself) alias: WAMKAP!! I didn't like the look and sound of PAKMAW.[img]
I can't seem to find a picture with me and my wife But here is my crew. |

Not to say Mr Flanigan"s name isn't Pure Irish, but, I had a neighbor whos name was P. O. McDonald. Patrick O'Brian McDonald. I kinda think his name was about the most Irish name I ever heard. |

Many years ago I designed and built power supplies and back up battery supplies for the telecom industry all over the country, they were low voltage but very high amps -48VDC but up to 100,000 amps so lots of power, and Roy is my name, so I ended up with powerroy on job sites and it just stuck |

The origin of my handle is lost way way back in the mists of time...
It's something my family have called me since before i can remember.
My parents suggest it was the first collection of letters my elder sisters taught me to say (as elder sister are want to do ?) when i was first learning to talk.
I use it for all my virtual identities. I have never yet had problems with someone else having already chosen my email address |

Mine is just like it sounds, I've always been a Kawi freak I owned and
restored only 73-74-75 Z-1s. A friend of mine gave me the 900 but one
time when I was riding I was doing about 110mph and the #1 rod came
out of the front part of the case and left a hole bigger than my fist but
the engine still kept running and would of if I did not run out of oil.
This impressed me so much I bought another engine for it and then bought an 1100. now I'm a cb nut but my passion will always be Z-1s |

Mine Is zman ..short for zone. It was zone at first but someone started calling me "Z" then zman.
i didn't care what they called me as long as it wasnt gay.
I received that name by being a pot head way back in the 70`s. I would zone out they say. or I was just thinking.
I don't smoke anymore but just in case an old friend see`s my moniker, what the heck. |

This was a pretty cool topic, contrary to what most people assume I am NOT a doctor. Well actually I am certified by the Perfect Circle Corp. as a doctor of motors (no kidding I mailed in 4 piston ring boxtops and pictures of my first exploded 396 BBC to get it.) I worked at an Oldsmobile dealer for 18 years. A fellow gearhead (thanks Dennis AKA Harley.) from the performance years (early 60's to 71 when they dumped the compression) started calling me Dr Olds since I worked at an Olds dealer. FYI for you kids or automotive performance war challenged people Dr Olds was some guy that stood in the magizine ads next to whatever latest Olds Cutlass 442 (or other Olds HP) GM was humping on the public back then. The name stuck in the circles I hung in for many years and I use it in my e-mail and most other on-line sites. |
