The guy who sold me the 11F called me & wanted it back. I sent pics of what I`d done with it & he was very excited.
It was a good deal for him as I`d done all the neccessary work, plus some mods. I could`ve flipped it the way I bought it, & made a few $$. Instead... I had to make it better, & lost $$. Not to include my labour & time tracking down parts .
I don`t regret it `cos the bike needed help, & I needed something to keep me outta trouble last Winter.
I want to thank all of you who gave me advice & encouragement. This is truly the best site for anyone with an F .
I sold my `74 Norton to the son of the guy I bought it from 22yrs ago. Lost $$ onit too . But... he was the right guy to have it. It`s not always about the $$.
I wanted to try a bike less than 20yrs. old, so I found this very low kilometer `03 Triumph Speed Triple. They`re abit ugly, but that`s part of their charm ( imo ) . Kinda like pit bulls . A major point for me was the 460lb. weight "wet", plus FI, modern radial tyres, & liquid cooling.
Now... if only there was a site as good as this, dedicated to them . |

No love on http://www.triumphrat.net/ ? I love the Street triple, I really, really, really, really really, want one. How does the turning lock feel in everyday use? |

Can`t give any riding impressions yet. It`s about 20 bellow & lotsa snow here at the mo`.
So the bike`s still at the dealers.
Yeh, the Street Triple looks very sweet. Much cuter than the `03 Speed3.
It should be a blast to ride, as it`s basically a naked 675. The 675 was voted "bike of the year" by the motorcycle press in `06. |

Mowtrhed,
I also run Triumph's !
I have an 05 S3 (the LAST of the 955i's) !
I got this after spending LOTS of time waiting/looking for a decent 1100R to turn up & found none !
Its also really scary how much tyre & chassis technology has moved on so much during the last couple of decades....
The S3 really does handle, has MASSES of GRUNT & POWER is an absolute Hooligan tool !
I actually PREFER using it for track days than my old CBR1000RR !
Still doesn't stop me lusting after an old dinosaur AS WELL AS tho...

Hi Mike.
Did you sell it back to Chris? in Kitchener?
After you sorted out all the problems, i am sure he will be getting a great bike.
The Speed Triple is a cool bike. Even the early ones with the spindly suspension. Years ago, i passed on buying a black '95 and have kicked myself regularly.
Steve. |

I rode my neighbors '06 speed triple and was amazed at how nimble and FAST it was! Reallya great machine. As far as selling your "f" there is always sellers remorse of some sort but it helps if you sold it to someone who will care for it and improve it just as you have. |
