I couldn't help myself - the picture had to be big so it was "in your face"...

This is at Mid-Ohio Vintage Motorcycle days last year. It's after the chicane leading into the keyhole, and the bike was running great and feeling good.

Hello Genesound: I'm very interested in that work on the tail/lamp of your bike. I have been doing some experimental fabrication on a cover and light that would fit right to the back of the seat, replacing the rear cowl altogether. That would involve taking off the rear fender section that attaches about three inches under the back of the seat, and replacing it with a stub fender that isn't so industrial as the current rear fender section is up under the rear light fixture. Since the rear light fixture would be put on a shelf, this solution would involve putting on new stop and turn signals, although my intention with the turn signals was to bolt the stems through the holes in the frame that furnish the rear fender section side support. It looks quite good in mockup, but more radical than your treatment -- makes the bike look like the Triumph triple streetfighter -- , and I'm inclined to think I like yours better.

Thanks for the pics -- they show how it works, and additional work to be done, very clearly. Makes me wonder if it wouldn't be possible to do a fiberglass enclosure on the back inside of the cowl, or perhaps a plastic plate. Sometimes those very thick truck mudguards in reinforced rubber make good stock for such jobs if they are inset enough you can't see the edges. By the way, you can get all kinds of rear brake lights, many with license illumination, at places like Fleet Farm up here in Green Bay; people use them primarily for trailers, but some are very good looking, and, when LED, very flat. Relatively cheap, too.

I didn't post a pick of my bike yet, because it's STILL not done beacuse I get hung-up on the details. But it's getting close.


Here is a crappy picture of it with the Corbin that didn't fit. It's still in the early building stages in this picture. Next project is to get the Veypor wired up (went with f3 front end) then a few other steps to be done from there.

I had mine with the tank off waiting for me to put the carbs and ignition on, but I decided to send the ignition in for testing first... since I bought that MC3 used I didn't want to be left stranded waiting for a good part just to be able to ride Wink

I think I'll be looking into bar end mirrors too Very Happy

Yep, still have it. Hanging in the garage waiting to go on another project F I hope to be putting together in the coming.....years. Hopefully. I have on my mind building a pipe with a tangentially siamese junction (Can't refer to it as an x pipe, that "phrase" is copyrighted) which will fit tighter to the front of the engine than the OMT and allow the use of the lower damn agian. It'll be a 4-2-junction-2, if you know what I'm trying to say. I think it helps settle the front end at hyway (and faster) speeds, may just be my mind thinking it's that way though. I started to cut it to make it fit the OMT but thought better of it. Thanks for the comments, I'm trying to keep up with you left coast guys. Laughing

Moon... I just got my new black Corbin...Definitely "Mercedes" Black leather per the sample they sent before I ordered, etc...And, it fits perfectly(even with the side cover on)...

This is from last years spring ride and the only thing different this year is some Works Performance Piggyback shocks and CRG levers, which by the way, you do NOT want to get the "shorties". A bit too short for my meats, but otherwise really slick. You need to use cbr master cylinders and perches, and if you want to keep stock type mirrors, which I prefer, use CB919 units. Plug and play.

Every once in awhile I think about selling it because I just cant ride that much anymore, and then I get out to the garage or take it for a spin, or even just admire her in pics like these.....damn, I love this bike. It makes me do this.... Very Happy .

My knee and ankle dont bend that far on one side. I may be going the amputee route so maybe rear sets will be in my future along with a thumb actuated rear brake.

larryg, your bike looks awesome. I wish I would have seen your post a few weeks ago. I've been assembling brake system parts for my bike using the old hard to find parts, when I could have just ordered 2005 CB900F master cylinders. Is it true they bolt right up? I am using the dual piston calipers from a 1982 CB900F. BTW, what is that pipe?

The pipe is an old Harris and yes, the CB919 master bolted right up complete with the little brake sensor. You can do the same with any F2/3 or CBR master also but will lose the little reciever for the mirror. Many guys use bar end mirrors so that doesnt effect them at all. The other nice thing is its all aluminum, no faded plastic.
