You have that bike looking pretty sweet man. Are you gonna leave the tail cowling black or pick one up on ebay when it comes up?
How does that bike perform now that it has real carbs, does the front wheel want to come up now?

Lurch, thanks for trying to explain the upload process, but I still end up with the url embedded rather than the pic.... I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to pop a very straightforward description into the FAQ section for those of us who find this mystifying.

I owe you guys collectively quite a bit in getting this bike back on the road after using it for garage sculpture since 1989 -- especially in tech tips left by a lot of folks, and material help from Lurch in supplying the rear grab handles and The Fox for the carb cleaning job. The satin black rear cowl (SEM 39143 Trim Black) people either love or hate; I like it because it visually shortens the bike (more streetfighterish) and makes the motor more central. I'd argue this motor, and those in the 900 and 1100 and CBX, are the best looking cycle motors ever designed, and even if the bike fell to bits I'd have that lump somewhere in the house to comfort me in my old age.

I followed the pod filter debate on the site, and all I can say is that these filters, with the old Stage V filter mods by Dynojet, haven't seemed to have made much difference, good or bad, except to reduce absolute top speed by 10 or 12 miles per hour. Don't mind that much. Stage V involved drilling out a hole in the slider, by the way -- how that would have affected vacuum lift I don't know the physics to say. Wouldn't mind a set of CRs, but being up to my eyeballs already...

Just put in a set of Speed Bleeders from DirtWerkz (www.dirtwerks.com) today. They are one-way bleed valves (the fluid can come out, but the air can't come back in), so you crack them a quarter turn and start pumping the pedal (or lever) hard, taking care to refill the reservoir regularly. Very easy, got out small bubbles that weren't supposed to be there, and I couldn't believe how much better the brakes felt afterwards. Very, very nice product, and certainly makes one-man bleeding a quick trick. Size for my bike, and I think all of our 750/900/1100s (check) is SB8125L (M8x1.25), the "L" giving a little more height so the bleed hose doesn't droop and slip off as sometimes happens with the stock valve.

Good EYES Luke.. Yep, STOCK CV carbs with PODS!!! YAY!!! Try dinking with your timing to get that last 10mph back... & YES, its ALL in the drilling of the sliders....I found 2 holes worked best for me.... Twisted Evil & I just LOVE those Raask rearsets Cool

A nice GOLD chain would really set that Beotch off....

Lurch, your yellow bike looks very very fast just sitting there. The paint job, and the Corbin, address the same problem of multiple conflicting design lines that I always found a challenge in the original design of the bike -- I especially like the way the yellow bottom of the panels flows up to the tailpiece; perfect. This winter I'm going to try to get more of that flow.

Blaine, love the idea of the gold chain. Next time. And I will fiddle with the timing. Love the Raasks, and of course we can still buy them if we have a bit over $300. Both the Raasks and the carb work was done in 1984. Much cheeeeper. Some advantages to being older.

Who was it that implied that we really should put on a chain guard? Is it a matter of safety? Are there any very much lighter-looking guards anybody has successfully adapted? I've always liked the look without, but have paid a price in oil-on-jeans...

Well the 900s are plastic, so not much wieght there. Ill try to see if it will fit on my 750... maybe with some Dremel mods.... Shocked

I almost had a raask rearset then decide against it only because I think my next buy will be carb’s, and braided brake lines first, plus I plan on doing a mod to the tail section like you said the lines on this cycle are problematic so the taillight and lower fender will have to go.
There was talk of doing a swingarm mod with a speed triple swingarm but that will be far into the future the most I’m willing to do there right now is an 1100f swingarm and some piggy backs.

Ok now to the rims I will get some flack on this but I can take it, I love the look of the comstars and do not plan on changing the rims but they are a pain in the a** to clean I even like them better than the 1100 rims, and the boomerangs go figure I’m weird .

It really is a never-ending list of mods.

Thanks you for your kind words about the paint scheme but I had the stock seat on her when I did the paint job and now the lines on the side of the tank do not flow with the Corbin so I need to come up with a better ideal for the tank if you have any suggestions just throw them my way and when fall rolls around I’ll do a repaint.

Ok guy’s Jim asked for others to post pic’s of their supersports and Super F’s so come on but please keep it down to one or two pic’s we really would like to see all the other cycles out there plus I would like to save each one for my screensaver.

Twinstar, there is nothing like very well shined black paint next to very well polished cases. Very beautiful. I know the 900 guys will beat us to the corner, but (sorry) I always think it a shame to see the details of that motor in black, although there is touch of evil in it that appeals. Where did you get the rotors drilled? Any downside that you found? Did the CRs make a big enough difference that I should toss my old ones? How about the 836 kit? How expensive would that job be, and would it make a difference without the CRs?

Lurch, you are so right about the twinstar wheels. Very light, very unusual, and good looking. Twinstar liked them enough to make their name his handle. On the painting, and the lines, I am going to be thinking about that next winter rebuild; lets keep in touch.

Genesound -- very nice. The black on black makes the bike a bit smaller and slimmer in some of the places it needs exactly that. Does the Gunfighter/Lady seat lower you much, or crimp your knees more dramatically than the original seat did? The original seats, I know, collapse quite a bit when we sit on them, so it may be that the Corbin does not lower you significantly? Or am I wrong?

Thanks Jim... Actually my original seat had been cut down, had denser foam, and was re-covered, so it was shorter than normal. It actually looked pretty good and was comfortable enough while riding, but was a bit thick between the legs when stopped with both feet down. With the Corbin I seem to be up just a bit higher, can't quite reach the ground as well, but it's more natural a feeling when stopped with both feet down, or in my case on tiptoes.

I really like your bike, as you know Dave. Wink

I will most likely keep the bodywork all black (new paint eventually), but many other items will change. I ordered the Ohlins that Eric set up, I will most likely do F3 wheels and forks, my 35mm FCRs and MSD MC3 are now destined for this bike, and who knows what all, I'm kind of making it up and changing my mind as I go. Wink

I almost have a whole nuther 11F motor to build, so I can do a quick change on that later... probably start building it when the Custom is finished.

The thing I'm pondering now is the F3 forks and wheel speedo drive problem. It might end up with something like a Veypor, not sure... Confused
