Plethora of accidents

Hey there, I have been off the board for about three weeks and when I come back the first thing I read is about all the wrecks the members have been having.

Is this an exagerrated run of particularly bad luck, or does this seem to happen at the beginning of every riding season. Almost like people are shaking the cobwebs out??

I have only been riding for about 4 years and have been down only once (touch wood). Any hints or comments for newbies and semi newbies on remembering how to ride after a long winters sleep

Nothing simpler.

Jump straight on, take it to redline in every gear and try to set a new land speed record everywhere you go. Dont worry about cold tyres thats just a myth, you'll be right. Dont forget to lane split as much has possible, you dont want anything slowing you down and dont worry all the cars are looking to keep out of your way so just barge on through. Besides if somebody knocks you off its gotta be their fault for getting in your way right? Wink

Did I mention its your skin your risking?

Practice ignoring beautiful women walking on the side of the road. If this is impossible for you, then take up golf.

it always seems early every season people go down, i suspect it is because you get rusty after not riding for months. also here on the east coast it snows, and they salt and sand the hell out of everything! come spring the stuff is deep and in almost every turn, gotta watch yourself!

My theory is that with this forum, some of us( not me of course Wink

) are really getting into the spirit of SuperSport and forget that every year we are older and it takes longer to loosen up those reflexes.Also to takes some practice to get into full defensive mode.

Crashing your bike is a FACT of life. In the 35 years Ive been riding, Ive laid down every bike I ever owned. NEVER, has a car been involved and almost every accident, xcept 1, was in a corner pushing my limits and the bikes.....as Stout says, learn to crash. Any moron can twist a throttle, but its the smart/strong deer that gets up after a crash.... and FYI, it takes about 2+ weeks to get over a 50mph sumersault....aches & pains, a lil longer... Shocked

So, buy good hardware, WEAR good hardware. Always wear a fullface helmet, or Ill send you to www.rotten.com to see what face hamburger looks like. NEVER ride in shorts, tank tops & tennis shoes. Thats for morons and Harley riders. If you do, your an idiot.....and you will get no sympathy from me...... Twisted Evil

I have to admint, since I took the MSF class I have become a better cage driver. I have become more practiced to taking triple looks over my left shoulder and actually turning almost all the way around before lane changes.

I also give bikes a lot more room when I see them. Just makes sence to me now that I am a rider and a driver.
