Finished the final touches to the trailer on Sunday afternoon. Loaded and secured the bike then took it for a test run. You are sweating bullets hoping that everything stayed the way you set it up - it did.
Will post some pictures tonight. Should have taken them yesterday as it was beautiful here, but I was more concerned with getting the garage cleaned back up and everything put away so life could return to normal. This project has played hell with the wife and my kid moving in & out of the driveway and garage. Then spent the rest of the evening prepping the bike for the trip.
Flooring is in. Fuel container rack built and installed. 2 spare wheel/tires purchased and loaded. The E-racks on the floor were reinforced underneath with 1/4" steel plating. Replaced the standard tail lamps with LED style lamps. (5) tie downs per side.
Should be out of here enroute to Daytona by 6:00 AM Wednesday. Next stop - Poole's Hotel.

Good news on the trailer. Look forward to seeing it.
Have fun. Safe trip. And take the camera. |

Yes, do not forget the camera. Maybe we will see you on tv because the race will be on my set.
My next door neighbor just came up on a nice trailer, it is a Titan.
It can hold 4 full sized quads he said and a small one too. It sleeps 6 and has all kinds of comforts including an extra large capacity water heater for outside showering or inside showering. |

From the rear...
Rear door down - unloaded
Rear door down - loaded - but not tied down
Will do the final touches tomorrow - loading and packing. We're out of here at 6:00AM on Wednesday morning. Spoke to Poole's again this morning confirming the reservation (P.S. Caryolyn doesn't work there anymore). See you all at the hotel sometime Wednesday afternoon. Bringing both a digital still & digital movie camera - should prove to be interesting to say the least.
Larry - catch me on the cell phone.

Spook, I will have top buy you a pin to wear. Something like "I trailered mine to Bike Week" should work. God help us if it rains while we are out and about. I will NOT be riding you Bitch back to the motel so you can get your trailer to retrieve your bike. |

You can bet you sweet ass on that one. If the radar says rain then I'm just gonna ride "bitch" with you and let yours get all sloppy while mine stays clean, warm and dry in it's portable house. If Gary's Harley makes the distance and you pitch a fit...I'll ride "bitch" with him. So there! Better than that....I'd ride "bitch" with Susan - naa, naa!! She has a more huggable waist than either you or Gary. Besides, you have a little over 300 miles to ride to Daytona fron Little Cuba - I have more like 477 from Pensacola and.....have to babysit a Harley enroute.
Push comes to shove - I ain't leav'n my pride & joy along the highway while I wait for some Gomer to come destroy it with his alleged bike lift.
Ehhhhhhhhh, wrong answer. HRCA tow or whatever. That shit just ain't gonna happen. Get me a pin that reads..."Okay, I'm a pussy and towed my bike to Bike Week"....but it has it's advantages too.
Look'n forward to gett'n together with you in Daytona! It's been a long time anyway and I'm really interested in seeing your 1123.

I should arrive there about 1 in the afternoon on Wednesday. Susan is not making the Daytona trip. She is saving her vacation days for the Hoot and Key West Poker Run. She has yet to learn how to ride in a straight line after 2 beers anyway. |

- Damn, sure gonna miss seeing her again. Especially that infectious laugh!
If all goes well, we should be there about 1:00 PM also.

I appreciate the compliments - thank you. Despite the "ragging" I am taking from my best friend in the group, I'm just trying to protect my investment.
Special thanks need to go to:
My son Sean for all the hours he pitched in from helping with the flooring to putting the last reinforcements under the floor for the e-rails. He gave up some nights with his girlfriend and at seventeen - that's a hell of a sacrifice.
To Gary (my Harley bud) - for finding the LED taillamp conversion, securing the right bolts and fabricating the reinforcements for the flooring e-rails. Not to mention assisting with hanging the wall e-rails.
My wife Lori - for doing without any help with the dishes at night, putting up with a husband that was possessed with getting this done before the trip and watching me spend my "funny money" on this trailer instead of her.
Last but not least: Everyone in this group that contributed ideas, thoughts and direction in putting it together the right way. Everyone contributed something and it found it's way into this trailer - my thanks!
Just going out now to hang the check-list on the trailer (from the race days) to make sure we have everything and we are ready to go. To those that are heading to Daytona - see ya there. To those staying back, we should have some good digitals to post when we get back.

No computer in that thing? C'mon, take a notebook and a wireless card. You'll be able to steal a signal somewhere.
We want real time updates
btw, is that a girlie calendar hanging in the front? Every bike shop needs one of those. |
