Hey ATC-Crazy ...I'm in Pearisburg...about and hour away from you. Where are you in Roanoke? You want to ride in the next few weekends? Weather permitting of course... ...I draw the line somewhere around the low 40's and drive my truck... My F won't start below that temp anyway... |

Actually I have a Yamaha Grizzly 660 ATV too so that is where the moniker comes from. Just got the CB900F and even though in good condition it needs some TLC (winter project). Can't wait to get her on the Alaska highways next spring (6 months from now).
Some folks have accused me of being an old grouchy Grizzly bear but I'm just a big ol teddy bear at heart. |

King-O-Road
Well it started off as the motto of an old Army unit. (King of the Road!)
(180th Trans out of Ft. Hood Texas)
Then I ended up buying a King Ranch Ford. and the whole online naming thing. ( poker rooms, yadda yadda yadda) shortened it to what it is now, and use the K-O-R for a faster sign off. |

'Bohdan X' was a vocalist with Australian punk band JAB and later fronted 'Bohdan and the Instigators'.
Some years later Bohdan became a legendary announcer on Melbourne radio station 3RRR ("3 Triple R" ) and I often listened to his show while building phone call queueing systems at the Ericsson plant in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
I thought Bohdan was a cool name and have used it on-line ever since.
<---- My cat however, is called Jeffrey |

I signed up here, because I was looking for a place to get ggod info for some of my bikes. Don't have an "F", but something close to it. So I needed to pick something I have in common with the "F' crowd. Valveshims it was. |

SF48...it's my race number at the track, given randomly by the guy directing the program that day. I like it. It's one of those things where it becomes part of your identity, and even if you won everything and earned the #1, you wouldn't give it up. |

My nephew gave me this nickname about 20 years ago when he was 4 and it just sorta stuck. Since I'm a hairy kind of guy it is appropriate. Everybody calls me "Beast". When my wife calls me by my real name (Rob), I know I'm in trouble. |

Well. How can I beat some of these stories? My nickname is actually what my last boss used to call me. I was working as a production assistant at a place that made tv ads, documentaries, music videos, etc that specialised in 3D animation.
They were subcontractors on a kids cartoon called 'The Shapies' and the animators were always having to redo the lip sync (matching the face and mouth to the actions/moods/ speaking) because they were rushing through it and not doing a good job. Work was slow so my boss asked me to give it a go. After a 3 minute lesson from the chief animator Cullen, I was found to be very good at it, and the director asked that I do all the lip sync from then on. My boss called me the Lip Sync God and praised me for my efficiency, but when the next 2 episodes went out early due to no recalls of the Lip Sync, did I get a bonus? NO. B@#^@%ds.
The reason I used it here was that I was eager to get onto this site and look around, and, having very little imagination, I just used the first thing that popped into my head. Boring hey? |

While working at a summer camp years ago, I had a nice felt fedora that I wore all the time. A friend of mine though it made me look Australian, and took to calling me Outback - every time he saw me - even if it was from several hundred yards away - he'd just shout it out... Well, needless to say, by the end of the summer, it was all anyone ever called me...
Also, since there were several Johns on staff, plus campers, so if you just yelled "Hey John!" about a dozen people would look at you... But "Hey Outback!" everyone knew who you meant... |

OK I have held off from admitting this for a long time now. But my logon name can be broken down into two parts.
Part 1 eg Short for Egli
Part 2 Honda short for Honda.
Unfortunately I cant load pictures at the moment. But put it together and I own a very rare piece of motorbike. The Egli is an Swiss built chassis which weighs 50 kilos (about 100lbs) less than a Boldor. believe me without the engine you can pick this thing up and carry it around. originally the bike was raced when it was brought out to Aus. The guy who brought it out used to work for Fritz Egli. My bike is one of the very few machines that Fritz fully built. My engine was originally 900cc, it has been bored out and fitted with Mahle High comp 1062cc pistons. the whole lot was balanced and blueprinted. It was clocked at 262 kmh on conrod straight in 1984 with a stock standard 1100 engine. That was quicker than Roger Freeths Macintosh Suzuki Superbike of that year.
I own a CB1100RB and a stock 1100F also a race bike 1100. None of these bikes come close to the power to weight ratio of this machine or the precision handling.
So that is my story. Please dont hate me for it.

Some great names and explanations. I worked in the oilpatch in northern Alberta in the mid 80's and at the time was between girls. One of the guys read an article in some un-named third rate naughty magazine that when you go without for a long time you get a buildup of zinc in your system.
Zinc has been with me ever since.

My bike can't stay up with a CB1100. So it's not a "rocket". It's just a "Hot Rod", right? That's what I would call it if it needed a name, so that's why I use it. It's runs alittle rough at idle, it has alittle paint chipped on the side, the chrome is all peeled off, but the best part about it I like is that it says "750", so when those CB900's pull up to me they think "Oh, I'm just so special compared to this fool next to me." But then when the light turns green, they're eating my dust real good. And that's what I like best. |
