I've been using "Camride" for about 7-8 years now. It originally came from a friend of mine in highschool. I had a 1987 Camaro for my first car and he started calling it the "Cam Ride" instead of Camaro. I started getting online right around that time so when I had to come up with a user name I thought Camride sounded unique and original. I've been using it for forever now and alot of people don't even know my real name, they just refer to me as Camride. It's really funny when I go to car club meetings and the guys think it's my real name I like it though, it's a cool name and it's easy to remember.

The name is Warrior in a western African dialect. I had always wanted an African name since i was younger. Some of that African pride stuff from the 60's. Well my 2 younger brother picked up on that and they changed their names first.
Welll after the 911 incident my youngest brothers informed me not to change my name legally as they had done because it creates some very difficult problems that they have run into.
So I am Sefu the warrior. Beats the hell out of William Smith. |

Always at a loss for a unique username I usually resort to spanish and plays on words. Azote means whip and when you ad the 'on' it becomes Big Whip...
Make whatever inferences you like... And if you happen to run across it somewhere else... more than likely it's me. |

Mine comes from High School and college.
Name is Jose. Everybody makes names shorter as nicknames. Like Steve, Rick, Mike, etc.
Jose is two syllables, hose is one.
I put Da Hose on my plates and people get a kick out of it, so that is what I use as a screen name.

When I first got a computor back in '98 i was addicted to a "Motorcycles" chatroom thru msn. It was a real room about bikes, not some stupid romance/porn room. My nickname was Tri750 for the 750 Bonneville that ive had for 20 years. Folks just called me Tri. I met some of the room folks at the vintage races at sears point and we used our real names of course, but they were still calling me Tri. Odd.
I was lucky enough to win my first race and the posted results had your posistion, your name and the kind of bike you rode. Kaw 750, Hon 500, etc. Mine of course read Tri 750 !! What a hoot!
Anyway, most of my friends and customers call me Big Al.
I will sometimes tell folks i wanted TRI#1 for a nic. but 749 other guys had the same idea ahead of me! |

This link should pretty much explain my name, It's pretty straight forward:
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dean_morarity/detail?.dir=/b610&.dnm=786b.jpg
Before I was ever a bike head I was a car guy, specifically GM A-bodies. I first started using the name on AOL IM in 1997 when I bought the car. When I signed up for my first internet messageboard it was a pontiac site (performance years) and I decided to keep the name since I wanted people to know they were talking to the same person regardless of IM or messageboards. My nicknames in real life were kind of sucky and generic- my first name is Kerry, so girls started calling me Ker-bear (pronounced care bear) in highschool and Eventually it was shortened to bear, but everybody has a friend nicknamed bear (I actually have two friends who are also nicknamed bear) so eventually I stopped responding to it. When I started to use the IM name people actuall started calling me GTO kerry or "Gee - Toe" Kerry, and eventually just Gee-to or goat. Now that a friend of mine just went out and bought a new GTO we'll see if it changes again.
maybe that was a little too much info..... |

Very interesting thread, the most interesting one I think I have ever read. Let's do another one like it. My username is simply my name because at my age you can't remember all the $#@&*! passwords and such that you've used on this and that site or service. No, no relation to the late president -- you would not believe how many times I am asked that... |
What President? I thought you were related to Gary Nixon!

In '87 I rented a game called "The Adventures of Link" for Nintendo. I've been using him as my game Avitar ever since. Works well for chat boards too. You can visit him at Zondar's Place ---> http://home.comcast.net/~zondar/index.htm |

Well as everybody else has posted I guess I don't want to miss out - its my name - pretty boring. If i wasn't in such a rush to access all areas and the plethora of knowledge/parts/pics I would have given it more thought.
Has anyone taken 1100R?
It's a strange thing reading all your posts - makes me realise how different the English speaking nations of the world are - despite our common language and more importantly our love of all things 'F'.
I mean, whats it like to own a gun? The only projectile I own is my RC (but hope to increase my arsenal by getting those Fs on the road real soon).
Mind you, with the police in the UK having nil personality nor intelligence its probably just as well we don't have legal shooters.
Anyone for cricket?

Actually, my nickname has been 'Buzz' for many, many, years because of my hair cut, but that nickname was already taken... So, Sparky. Well, my girlfriend started calling me that about 6 months ago and it stuck. Not a lot of imagination involved in this one either... But, it fits for the most part so I'll take it. And, I would probably answer to it in public... |

Hi Tambri - they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... Can't remember who I was "falttering" when I started this thread on XWorld.
You bunch took this a LOT further than the X gang.
I didn't get my X for it's looks. Back in the day IMM [in my mind] the CB1100F was the sleakest sexiest bike out. More refined looking as stock.
I got the X for the engine (I guess that's looks too, only in a different way). I just come over here to peek in the windows once in a while. Maybe someday I'll get a chance a barn dwelling 1100 that needs a good home for a right price.
Hey I tried some bovine growth hormone in the X...
That's my cousin Vinny posing for the picture.
Zondar - My younger brother once nicknamed me "Link". Said something about - mouth breather, knuckle dragger, etc. etc. though, not Nintedo.
Thanks guys

As a kid - I read some comic books. One of them was about this guy that is given some super strength - then tied down to good 'ol planet earth. He decides he likes the folk that live there and becomes their benefactor and protects them from outside their society. (Kind of a loner and always thinkin').
My first handle here was "link" - just did a little lurkin' for a while. [-]Thought for a while - my '79 is silver. Ridin' is kinda like surfin' 'specially when ya weave in n out of the dashed yellow centerline - 1050 3CC away from 1047 - guess I could been dialed right down on 1047, but 1050 is a nice round number.
Mine is probably fairly self explanitory. If it was a personalized plate you'd all get it. |

I couldn't use JeffS because that is already taken. It would fit just fine. JJ is for jeffreyjack. A name from a mellencamp song. Has a reference to playing pool...given the name by a friend. My first name is Jeffrey.

Thanks man, I was thinking of asking the question but then started looking and I came back to see if anything was new..and here it was...The one that I was wondering most was Razor's...thought he was working for Gillette or something and designed the "quatro"...boy I was way off...
any way...Squatch71...was born in WA state, Sasquatch was making a name for Washington when I was born..1971..moved to Montana and my "new" friends thought it was cool that I was from a state that held the most "yeti" sightings...we were mappers and worked in the dark..those drafter/designers or computer gamers know the reason....and we all worked in cubes..when I would stand up I was a foot + taller than the cubes..was dark...had long hair....we had a tour going through and I stood up and walked out of my cube right next to the tour and scarred one of the VP's..cause I was standing right behind her (guess I didn't make any noise) she was about 5'-3", she turned around and walked right into my belly...woke the whole building..about 350 people..the manager of us mappers had to explain that it was just "squatch" and he didn't mean any harm...kinda felt like a animal trying to pet the pretty ladies hair..."he's ok, he doesn't know any better, he won't harm you..."
any way...there you go....

It is interesting to read about everyone's cyber names on this post, so I guess I should add mine to the list.
Unlike most people, I got my motorcycle license BEFORE I learned to drive a car because my road test in a car was not a pleasant experience. I am the only person I know that got pulled over by the police DURING his road test. When the officer came up to the window and asked to see my driver's license I told him " I haven't got one yet-- I am still taking the test." Needless to say, going through a red light right in front of the cops during your driving license test is going to have an impact on whether you pass or fail, and I failed the test. This made me "swear off " cars for a while so I got my motorcycle license first and bought a Honda CB175.
When I finally passed my car driving test, I started driving a 1966 Honda S600 that my friend owned. This was one of the smallest cars on the road at that time and was one of the first cars Honda ever produced. As the name suggests, the engine was 600cc's, DOHC, 4 carbs and put out 57 bhp at 9,700 rpm. The car was chain drive and you really had to be good with the clutch and transmission to make a perfect shift. The car was geared almost one to one meaning that if you were travelling 70 mph, the engine was turning 7,000 rpm. Top speed was 97 mph at 9,700 rpm. I used to love driving that car and eventually did a few novice car rallies in it around Toronto Ontario in the late 1960's and early 70's. Because the car revved so high and because I was into revving it out nightly in numerous street races, I got the nickname REVS. I started going to all the racetracks in Ontario, Quebec and New York state, got into Porsches, Formula 1, and the rest is history.

Good lord, Ill have to come back and read all of these later....
My first email address when the internet started was lame (5th grade, duh of course but it was related to bike racing, LayDPwrDwn...) so when I started actually using email a lot I needed to change it to something simple, catchy....something I could just tell someone....something without a million number and symbols (hello my name is AJ and my email addy is AJ32462462452353125351533162@aol.com)
Since I love Italy, italian cars and motorcycles..... and I LOVE italian food.... eatpasta seemed logical
In one of the punk bands I played in for years, we used to go get pasta before every show....
Now GIMME SOME PASTA. |

I got the nickname JohnnyNumbers from some friends at work. I'm full blood Italian and I'm a CPA so naturally one would assume that I'm a mob accountant! |

And you living in AZ where the mob is so prevelant, we/I had no problem figuring that out.
Wasn't "Johnny Numbers" one of the names from the movie "Good Fellas"? Like "Jimmy Two Times" who said everything twice?

Kestin is just the first name of an online alter-ego I use. Sometimes he's Kestin D'Lere Evermore, Duke of High Peaks in northern France sometime around 1650. Other times he's Captain Kestin Evermore of the starship Kari's Pain. Over the years Kestin has fleshed out to be something almsot real. He's got a wife, kids, and a long family history now. Often in online games when I have more then one character his brother Harrin pops up.
If you play World of Warcraft you can find Kestin on the Agramaar server.
