Today I got lucky:
A) I've got head cold and my nose has been running like a runaway train.
B) So a guy at work had a Dayquill, just one, so I took it, not long before heading out for my ride home.---LUCKY
C) While passing truck that was turning right (2 lanes going my way) a car pulls out right in front of me...... Lots of brakes.. ha ha missed me!!---LUCKY
D) Had to stop for gas, pulled off the highway, there was a 3 car bend up just in front of me--LUCKY
E) Missed all the glass on the road --LUCKY
F) About 14 KMS from home I'm noticing the KLR seems rough (remember, I blew the engine in my 900) maybe the doohicky is broken (yes that really is a KLR thing), but no! that's not it --LUCKY
G) About 12 Kms from home I'm thinking that dayquill must be really strong because I really don't feel "right" driving, I sort of feel out of touch, but not far to go ---LUCKY
H) About 10 kms from home something is really wrong,(it wasn't the dayquill), I stay off the brakes and coast onto the shoulder, once I'm down to 20 kph or so I try a gentle weave, WHOA!! Flat tire!!! Gald I didn't try that at 120 kph---LUCKY
I) I gently gas it to the next approach and stop.. wow! the ground is closer when your rear tire is flat, I'm stopped from highway speed with a flat---LUCKY
J) 1 Bar of Charge of Battery left on the cell, call for back up, wife and kiddies not only in the car, but less than 10 K away--LUCKY
K) now just have to go out and unload the bike--LUCKY to have a shop to work in
L) 2-morrow I think I will by a loto ticket, because despite this stupid cold, I'm really LUCKY!!

I am just glad to hear how lucky you are. Get yourself and the bike in better shape soon.

(note: not sure having a flat tire is lucky, but the fact that you didn't have issues is)

If this happened on the X or the F, I would just buy a new tire. But on the KLR I plan on just putting a new tube in (patching the old one for a spare), and just running the tire as is, unless it shows some signs of broken belts or something. Is this wise?...Comments?..
