Well, it got me home, it even saw triple digit mph moments before I shut it down for the last time, but this motor may be done,,,
80,000 kms of spirited riding, some track time, a big bore kit, and tons of fun..
It took a 1/2 litre of oil every 100 kms (60 miles) to make it home, (about 700k from when it got real bad) running at best on three, sometimes two, one plug was hammered shut by ring bits, some interesting knocks and vibrations were going on, not to mention backfires, and lots of SMOKE. It would only start when cold, & even then it had to be pushed a few times...
Oh well, I guess I'll be able to find something to keep me occupied this winter:)
yep, that's oil everywhere, the blowby got so bad I had to re-route the breather to stop the airfilter from clogging with oil...maybe a 1100 motor this time..

That sure is a sad sight, but I know how it feels. At least you made it home, I had to wait around for my buddy to ride 237 miles to pick up my Toyota Tacoma and then drive all the way back that very same 237 miles to come pick me Laurie and my bike up.
An 1100F motor sure is a good idea |

Yikes !!! Oh how i wish i didn't know the feeling
Mine sounded just like a 2 stroke when the #3 rod let go , then the wheel locked up a bit after !
Didn't have to but i walked my bike home (bout 7 -8 miles)
Wasn't in a social mood |

I wonder if mine isn't on the way to Feaven as well. It developed an 'interesting' buzz in 4th gear at 45mph on decel yesterday. Today it's gone. Think I'll keep close to home for a few days.

May just be the cam chain tension. But it's very late into the week and I'm cranky! Think I'll just play Doom.
