    Merry Christmas Dear!

Last August, my wife bought a mint 79 Honda Twin Star on a whim at a marina in upstate NY. On this, she's learned how to ride like a pro and has fallen in love with motorcycling. Trouble is, with our 11 year old son, there's not enough room to make this a family activity.

This past Christmas, I found my Honda under the tree. "I want you to ride with me this year" was her rationalization.

Thanks very much Sweety! Hope you can keep up...

The machine pictured here is my 1982 CB900F that these photos don't do justice. The odometer, and the statement from the dealer, Scott Motor Sports of Swanzy NH, as well as one of the photos shows 5500 original miles.

This was one of an assortment of motorbikes owned simultaneously by the fist owner (I'm the second) and for some strange reason, the least ridden. The chain indicator shows the correct amount of wear, the foot pegs and handle grips show no sign of wear, and except for a bit of wear from polish on the front fender graphics, she's mint. This machine is exactly as it came off the assembly line with no modifications. With this, I have no desire for a new bike, of any make.

Riding is further indication of the low mileage. The clutch and breaks are silken and the engine is a brute with nothing that shouldn't blowing out the pipes. This bike is just broken in. And my dear wife saved a bundle by not buying a new, lesser machine.

In the past, I owned a Suzuki 550L and a RT100. After riding this machine however, I now understand what I've missed. The paved roads in Vermont are basically smooth, and for the most part, winding. The handling of the CB900, as any owner can tell, is effortless and the cornering abilities are amazing. The seating - handlebar positioning feels near perfect, inviting one to take "the long way home".

My dear wife, I can't thank you enough!
